Hey all, The rear shock on my 99 M2 has no compression and is leaking oil. I need to get it rebuilt, does anyone know a good place to send it to for a good price? Also, what other years and model rear shocks bolt up to the 99 M2? Thanks again!! Frank. | ||

After Shocks in CA did mine; Race Tech (may direct you to a local service provider, the local dude here was not familiar with our bikes) also does them and I think I've read about another but not sure who.... About $350 or so for mine a few years ago with custom valving and set up to bolt on an ride. I was very pleased with the rebuild, softened the compression by a quarter turn for my interstate commuting, otherwise it was great. The lock ring spun loose on the race track and I secured it later but the preload is off a bit now. I never addressed this with them. | ||

guys, I am trying to do a "budget build" on the bike. I just bought a house and don't have as much extra dough as I used to  I can't really afford an aftermarket shock, anything will be better than now, it is like a pogo stick! Ha ha. I think I will end up buying a used shock. Anything in particular I should be on the look out for? Thanks, Frank R. | ||

I can check the spare I've got in the garage if you like, do as Fasted says and make sure the adjusting screws still work and it hasn't sprung a leak. It's a 14.5" unit I got to get me by while I had the other rebuilt, I only ran it on the bike for three weeks, got it from someone here for $75 shipped. |
