With the weather finally warming up here in Iowa, I was able to put 100 miles on the bike today and test out my new Special OPS exhaust and Ventura rack. The exhaust sounds great and the rack is very stable. Here are a couple pictures: -Nick- |

@ Demarsico It's not a spec ops fender eliminator. It's a different brand (who isn't a sponsor on the forum). If you would like the company's name, just send me a PM. Thanks, Nick |

Your bike looks to be an 09 model, any other mods to the bike other than the Spec Ops. How did it run with the new exhaust can on it ? Very nice! |

@ Percyco Thanks man. The bike is a 2009 XB12Scg. Here's what I've done to the bike so far: -Fender Eliminator -Special OPS Exhaust -Ventura Rack -Right Side Air Scoop With the new exhaust, the bike runs great. I still run the stock air filter, so I haven't upgraded to the Race ECM. The stock ECM has "learned" the new exhaust very well and the bike runs strong. If you have any other questions, please let me know. -Nick- (Message edited by nickh on March 14, 2010) |

Did you get a Ventura bag as well or just the rack? |

Well, I put another 50 miles on the bike today after work. The Special OPS exhaust just gets better and better. The bike doesn't surge as much at lower RPM's and it sounds great. -Nick- |

Is there a trick to removing the bolts that hold on the passenger pegs? It seems that they are attached using a self-locking nut. |

"Is there a trick to removing the bolts that hold on the passenger pegs? It seems that they are attached using a self-locking nut." Two of the four have locknuts. You can see them on the sides of the battery under the seat. Jim |

Thanks guys. @Moto I just used pure man strength to remove them, but the tip above helps too. -Nick- |

How many cases of beer can you get on the rack? The set up looks great! |

Thanks. I thought they were locking nuts looking at them. Do they have to be replaced after removal? |

@ Motorico I did not have to replace them, I reused mine. If anybody is interested, I purchased the optional grab handle which I have installed when I'm not going to use the rack. If anybody wants a picture to see what that looks like, I can post a couple. -Nick- |

Nick, You might want to consider one of these Givi hardcases. They can be found new online for about $100 and they bolt on/off easily. I love mine for errands and a helmet fits inside. Nice lock on them. -michael

Michael, What Givi model is that? That looks like it would hold a good amount for a weekend trip. -Nick- |

Thanks Nick! And Nick, be careful with the plate, my buddy has clipped his with the tire twice already with that setup. Putting a few degrees more "bend" in it stopped the problem. Jim |
