Hi, I have a 1999 buell S3T. I thinking about changing to a Carburetor. Has anyone done this on BWB? I would like to have as much information I can get. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Why are you switching? The switchover has been done a number of times, not a big deal really. A new gas tank is needed or modifications to the old one as it has the fuel pump inside. You need an fuel tank, intake manifold, carb, timing cup off a carbed model. Not sure about throttle cables or carb hold down clamp. The FI system on the S3's works well once you install a race module and zero the TPS. Brad |

Brad, Its not that I want to, I have had a lot of problems with this bike, This is my second s3 the first one ran great. This one has not ran well sense I had it. Maybe its me? the last thing I did is replaced the fuel pump the other was bad. after I did that I thought it was OK. now I can only get it to Idle and only with the tps set at around 3.7 if I set it where it belongs 4.6 to 5.1 it won't even start? |

David, Actually both of the blues ones are mine. I got a thing about that "Bluz" color.. If you are having problems getting it running, you need to look elswhere than the TPS. Are you running the race module or the stocker? Sounds like you are using ECM Spy or something like that right? Are you positive you don't have any intake leaks or bad injectors? The problem you describe can be cause buy lots of things. You might want to pop over the the "Old School" section, thats where all the tuber folks hang out. LOTS of expertise available there. I had simpler a problem before, after I installed the new fuel pump it started and seemed to be running ok tho I didn't ride it because of 2' of snow. so it set for a couple of mouths went to start it again I am where I am now? Thanks Dave |

Part of your problem is the stock ECM. They were problems from the start. I'm betting someone could set you up with a good map, alternative is to find a race ECM. Where do you live? There may be a Bueller near by. Again, post up in the old school section. Brad |

Brad, I live in South Jersey. I really appreciate your input, but I am still leaning towards a carb. At least they are something I understand. I'm not going to make any quick decisions.I do have other bikes to ride. And yes I do have ECM Spy. And VDSTS from American sport Bike. Dave |
