Is it true the spring color indicates the pound rate? Also can you tell us if the instructions that come with it correctly identify the compression damping adjustment to be the screw near the back of the shock body, and the rebound damping adjustment is on the reservoir body? My instructions have it backwards (the "normal" way,) and I had to call Penske to confirm it is like I said above. |

I would advise that you not put that shock on your bike. Best bet at this point is to put it back in the box and send it to me. I'll dispose of it for you. |

My spring is dark, dark blue and has "475" painted on it by hand(by the looks of it). The directions are still backwards - for the money they should at least add a supplement to it when shipping a Buell Tuber shock. Thanks Devil, I have owned this bike for over 4 years - I hope your waiting time is shorter than mine! I also got Race Tech springs and gold valves for the forks yesterday! gonna be a busy weekend! |

Careful, you don't want to wear the spring out before you even get it installed. |

Wow Scott! That baby should be a totally different machine! Let us know what it handles like when you get it all done. As far as my wait time goes, I gotta say it's been a lot longer... I've owned mine since I bought it new in February 2003. Oh well, someday! |

There should be a page in the instructions "for Buell installations". I have to find mine, but I've seen that page in there.... Very nice. You're gonna love it! |

Seems like several of us are doing the Race Tech Fork springs now. I have the Gold Valves and the springs, but haven't figured out where the valves go, nor the preload spacer length yet. |

You have to drill out the dimple with a 3?16" bit. Just go through the tube not through the valve holder! Next you push the valve holder in to release the clip.
