The new owners archives states that a common mod to fix the uly's poor lighting is to have both the highs and road beams come on at the same time. However, it doesn't list any possible ways of acheiving this. Would my useless and ineffectual HD dealer know how? is there a kit? |

Search the site using google. The answer is there. I did this on my Uly, it is a simple wire swap on the switch. The other way is to just modulate the switch half way between brights and lows and it will stay. The best way is to install a HID kit for about $60 and be done with it. I did this as well, with fantastic results. |

I use slowride's method. I put little white dot on switch housing where the rocker switch has both lights on. Has worked on my 06 since 06. i also have a set of PIAA's to help burn off all the excess wattage that seeems to melt the VR and stator connectors. |

Easiest mod: Put an elastic band over the "passing trigger" In low beam, both will be lit. I got sick of that and finally installed some cheapo autozone driving lights to an aluminum bar and slaving them with a relay to the high beam. Best $45 I ever spent. |

The pin swap changes the lite to Aux or Acc (forget which) The solder bridge in the switch keeps all on original circuit. Those dinky little pins can be tempermental - particularly if your 'ham fisted' like me. I found the solder job actually simpler. Did both - undid pin swap & ended up having to change connector due to aforementioned hamfistedness. |
