Anyone try the EBR ECM with a stock muffler? I have an 08 lightning that I just can't get to run correctly. It stutters and surges and I can't seem to make it go away. I'm hoping that the EBR ECM may help this, but it says it is for bikes with race mufflers. I'm not sure it will work well with a stock can |

I just asked this question to EBR, here is the response. ĻIt will not add much power if any on the stock muffler, but will add some fuel which improves power delivery and control on the trackĻ |

What about Direct Link which is about $200 and I thought it worked on the 08+ machines. |

What will direct link get me exactly? I need a map to make the stuttering and hesitation go away. |

Pretty sure that American Sport Bike has a map that will help, drop them an email and ask. You might also have an out of tolerance O2 or temperature sensor. Another way to deal with the slightly lean condition could be to get a good wide band O2 and controller. Most of the controllers have a simulation mode that you feed back to the stock ECM and can program for a slightly richer setting. This would make sure that you never see the lean setting given by the stock O2 and map. Either way you are looking at $200+ |

Greg_e Very helpful information. Can you suggest a wideband sensor and controller? |

Not yet. There have been a couple of posts about it but I haven't really followed up on them because I'm not ready to make that step yet. Also there appears to be a new version of ECMspy that might let you do the tuning you require for the price of a connection cable. |
