Today I picked up my 09 1125R from the dealer where it has been since 26 February due to a charging system failure. The bill for that would be over $1700 in parts alone if it wasn't covered by warranty. Anyway, I noticed a bit of what appeared to be oil on the engine and figured it was no big deal since the dealership changed the oil (for free: Biggs H-D is pretty good). I wiped it off and went for a test ride. Upon return home there it was again, but only on the right side (mostly the clutch cover). I wiped it off again, and began to pump the clutch lever to see if anything happened. Each pump of the lever makes a tiny suction noise from the clutch cover weep hole. I don't know if it did that in the past, but it does now. After maybe 30 or so pumps, a drop of clutch fluid will slowly drip out of the weep hole. Is this the initial stages of a major leak? My bike is a November 2008 build, so I thought I had the latest clutch cover revision...maybe I don't. |
