Well, been thinking about trying a new type of tire recently and stumbled across this website. sportbiketrackgear.com I notice they offer military discount which makes it very tempting. Anyways, they only sell Michelin tires and I have no experience with them on the bike. Wondering what the opinions are. I'm looking at the Michelin Pilot Power set they offer. It's a dual compound tire so I would expect a good long life from the center with the sides being good for some canyon carving.

I currently am running the Pirelli Scorpion Syncs, but those are a bit pricey lately.

Opinions?

It's the same compound in the center as their other tire, the regular Pilot Power, but the outside compound is even softer. Average mileage commuting is probably 5-6k tops.

not got experience of the pilot powers, but have the pilot road 2's on my xb12. the feel a lot better in the corners, but dont square off like the diablo's i had before. 400 miles on them and at least another 2000 to go.

will look at the pilot powers for my cr when the back tyre gets low

I'm running the Pilot Power 2CT dual compound rubber on my 1125R. The also have the regular Pilot Power that is not dual compound.

The 2CT's seem to be working ok, they're just like some have said on here,"they warm up fast" and they're "pretty good in the rain". The prices are very good right now for those tires.

They do not have the "stick" of the Corsa III's but good enough for mere mortals.

Pilot Powers friggin rock. I was running conti RoadAttacks before, and the pilots seem to last a bit longer. I ran around for about 3k miles with the stock front, and a power rear and it was kinda funky. Then I put on a matched set and fell in love all over again.

Great tires.

Btw, I put Bridgestone BT-016's on mine and it changed the way the bike felt for stability to me in a very good way. Much more confidence inspiring for an older guy. I've got almost 5000 miles on them now and they look like they're going to make it through most of June at this pace, so 7500 miles on a rear is good for me.

D,

I have been interested in the BT-016s. Do you have any wet riding experience with them? The rain grooves don't give me confidence, just from looking at them.

I still have the stock corsa 3's on mine and the rear is worn pretty thin in the center with just under 2600 miles however its not squared off... I'm looking to swap to some pilots as well but I'm torn between the powers and the roads... I like to ride the twisties hard but I have to commute a bit to get there and I want a harder center compound... I might get another 500 miles before the center is toast...

I haven't had any real issues with them in the rain so far, but I don't ride a lot in it. If I get caught out, I'll keep going, but I don't intentionally go looking to ride on rainy days. I ride with more caution in the rain either way, so I never have tried a full lean with them when it's all wet out. No slips or slides for the way I ride though, except for once when it was cold (35 degrees out maybe?) and a little damp.

I haven't used the Pilot Powers, but I have a set of Pilot Road 2CTs on. I'm very happy with them. I have over 7k miles on them, and it looks like I'll be getting over 10k from the rear.

I got 5500 out of my stock Corsa IIIs, and have a set of 2CTs on now with ~600mi on them. They seem just fine - they're not full on race tires, but I'm mostly commuting, so... no real need for super-sticky rubber.

If I can get 10k+ of commuting/touring/occasional weekend twisties out of them, I'll be very happy.

Conti Road Attacks for the win! Not on my Buell yet but on my Busa I could drag my knees with em. Never legitimately made them slip and managed to get 10K miles out of rears and 20K out of the front.

Even commuting in the city I got 8K out of them.

Care to guess what's going on my 1125 in about a month?

Biggest I'm looking for is long life in the center of the tire. I rarely ever wear the sides before the center. So, what I want is a long life center and good grip for canyon riding.

Ryan, I love my Conti Force Max. I have a new set on both my Scg and CR. They just roll instinctively.

I have pilot power 2CT's on my bikes and LOVE them. This is just my opinion but I thought the corsa III's just plain stunk.
