I have a 2006 XB12SS. Would it be possible to put the Uly Passenger Peg Setup on my bike. If so, how hard would it be to do, and would it gain me much passenger leg room? I think I have seen some who have put a full Uly tail section on an SS but I don't really want to go that far. We have a Corbin with backrest already. Just hoping for a little more leg room for the wife on longer trips.

If you look at a Uly and at your Ss, you will see three bolts that hold the rider footpeg mounts to the frame. On the Uly, that's the same piece of metal that holds the passenger pegs; on the Ss, they only hold rider pegs.

To do the swap, you have to change those frame pieces.

And re-mount the shifter lower on the primary case because the rider pegs are that much lower.

And replace the rear master cylinder linkage to the brake peg.

There's quite a bit of work involved.

Oh, and you have to use Uly pegs. The peg mounts are narrower than XB mounts, so XB pegs won't fit in the notch.

I've done it. Requires something like $400 in parts, but all bolts right up

Two footpeg mounts
Two sets of footpegs
Uly shift linkage
Uly rear brake line

Do note, this also lowers the driver pegs, and KILLS ground clearance in turns.

before you go that far..you could try flipping the passenger peg brackets from left to right and vice versa...it might just buy your pillion the extra leg room they need for free

Thanks all. Uly swap sounds like a bit more than I am willing to do. Will look at swapping peg brackets from left to right. Has anyone done this?
