Makes a clacking sound when slowing down at low speeds. It started happening after I installed the new front rotor and brake pads. I installed a new wave rotor from Braking and new rotor hardware and stock Buell brake pads. Everything was factory torqued to specs. I don't feel and pulsating on the brake lever as it happens. Please help.

Did you take out the spring clips that put tension on the pads and help keep them aligned?

I misplaced mine and have them on order now. Cost me almost 20 bucks for 2 of them.

I replaced the clips and I'm still having the same problem.

Are the brake pad pins worn out?

They didn't look worn out. I didn't see any flat spots on the pins. I'll double check. I did check to see if the pins still had the white o-ring at the end of the pins, they were still there.

Have you checked the tightness of the rotor bolts? They should be torqued 25-27 ft lbs. The wear bushings could be worn and need to be replaced. You can also check the rotor thickness, it should be changed if less than 0.18" or 4.5mm.

How many miles do you have on the bike?

The rotor, hardware and bushings are all new. I have the ZTL2 caliper. Its been making the noise since the whole brake job. I've been riding it with the clattering for about 50 miles.

Check screws of front fender. If you are missing nylon washer, it is the reason.

At low speed try to watch the pads as you tap the front brake to see if the pads are shifting.

I finally got the spring clips in(after being on order for 52 days)and that was my problem.
