Try pushing down on the cap while turning the key. |

The caps tend to be stiff when new. |

Be gentle dude. If you use retard strength youll snap the key. So far the best thing Ive bought for the bike is the GSD gas cap. |

I never have problems getting my gas cap off. the problem I have is once the cap is back on I have a hard time getting my key back out. It seems to be getting worse. |

Its a hassle to stick a key in the hole? My Blast came from the factory with a keyless gas cap, I notice no difference in convenience between that and my XB/1125s |

Maybe some one could see if we can get a group buy together on these cause I would like too, just can't justify spending that much |

Thank you everyone. Yeah the key would not turn at all, I tried pushing down the cap. Nothing was working. So I started this thread and called a guy I met on here he lives in Ohio. That didn't help Really Didn't want to break the key Then Finally/oddly/strangelly/WTF-lly I squeezed the right lever while trying to turn the key and it turned like it was lubed with butter. I thought I even felt a little click on the key when I squeezed. Cap cam right off I put it back on tried it again. Didn't work damn thing was stuck again and I still needed gas. Idiot!!!! Ok tried it again it worked, I filled up came home. Thank you all again. |

Spray allot of triflow into it and work it. Also take a sharpie and draw an arrow (under the flap) to indicate off or on. |

Triflow, hell I put white lithium in both of mine, works like a top and stays put. |

Don't be skimpy on a gas cap. Ever heard of W. Mitchell? He's experienced what happens when your gas cap comes off while laying your bike down... he's also a plane crash survivor, but only the motorcycle accident induced burns. ... just my paranoid 2 cents. Thanks for the lever-squeezing tip, Guard_rail, I'm gonna try that... (Message edited by pariah on March 09, 2010) |

LoL, so silly I can't believe that happened to you ... oh, wait same thing happened to me, couldn't get it off at the station, had to ride home & post too. Now mine works with no problem, like it had to get broken in. |
