So the story behind my new motorcycle is kind of funny. I was looking at them on ebay and saw this one for a buy it now of 5500 or make an offer. I then made an offer of 4700 thinking we would barter a bit and maybe come to a final price. Not thinking he would accept the first offer at all I check my email when i return home from work to see that he accepted my first offer. The bike is an 08 with 7000 miles and still a month of warranty left. Should i be leary or really pumped? |

Be pumped. You have a month to extend the warranty if you want. That's a great deal! |

When you buy the bike from the dealer it comes with 2 years. They should of gave you an option at time of purchase to buy an extended one for 4 more yesrs for a total of 6. It was like 1200 bucks extra. You have the 2 years to extend it (before your free factory one ends) but it may cost a little more now |

I bought the wheel and tire warranty yesterday. Phila and NJ is just full of potholes after the couple feet of snow we got. Roads that were kinda iffy last summer are total shit now. I thought I blew a fork seal riding to the dealer yesterday because I couldnt go in any direction and not ride into a pothole. 3 years of warranty plus the wheel plan cost $1500. I spent all of my pipe money making sure the bike will be taken care of. I found a dealer in Pa that has 3 techs who ride Buells (one bought the last CR on the floor). That is good to know too. The service manager is a really cool dude and I wish I would have bought my bike from them. I like to support people who stand behind what they sell. Sadly, I cant say that about the dealer I bought my R from |

I think adding 5 to make it 7 total years cost around $1300-1400 when I priced it. Call around. Different dealers can have different pricing. The warranty is good anywhere. |

Gonna retract that for now. I am pretty sure I read it on the bulletin, but I can't find it on H-Dnet just now. I'll look into it in my files tomorrow. (Message edited by bikejunky on March 09, 2010) (Message edited by bikejunky on March 09, 2010) (Message edited by bikejunky on March 09, 2010) |

>>>but it won't be backed by HD. HD, and perhaps this has changed, has darn little to do with ESP other than licensing it to be sold through their dealers. |

Technicality HD ESP is underwritten through an insurance company, CNA as I recall. the HD ESP if purchased on a Buell is good at any Buell dealer, some dealerships will or maybe I should say, CAN refuse other plans (which is beyond me considering a $ is a $) for various reasons. |

Please do Bike. If they sold me something thats worthless Ill go get my cash back and buy a Drummer. I'll check into it first thing AM tomorrow. I have all the sheets so I can look into it before I get you all worked up. I should have confirmed that before I said anything. My Bad on that. Most F&I Guys are on top of things just like I try to be, but I was going from straight memory on that and I want to confirm now that I can't find it online. |
