Looking for suggestions on header wrap. I want to wrap my header with black header tape, there are so many to choose from and I am looking for suggestions from people who have done this? What brand to use? Thanks |

I used DEI header wrap and black high temp paint. It takes almost 2 15' 2" rolls to wrap a stock late model header. Soak the wrap in water and wear gloves (textured rubber gardening gloves work well). As the wrap drys it tightens up but it also loses a lot of it's color. The paint makes it look good and is also supposed to seal it. The DEI stainless zip ties suck ass, don't waste your money on them just use regular zip ties at first then put hose clamps on. |

The KAWASAKI decals on the gas tank will make the transformation from an American icon to a rice-burner look-a-like complete and fool most people. It also will make the bike sale proof and steal proof, and since reversing the transformation would be cost prohibitive, it surely is a bike for life. Genius! |

I was gana paint it pink but you allready did that! For one it is Arctic cat green, when you put it next to a kawasuki the colors don't match, to bad I allready thought of that. Seens how they don't make buells anymore why would I sell mine? That would be dumb. I would never get back what I have into it. So when you start to pony up some cash for paint you can have an opinion, until then shut the f--- up. It is one thing thing to be thought of as ignorant, it's another thing to open your mouth and remove all doubt! |

this is what mine would have looked like stock when i picked it up used with 124 miles on it.
if you had the cash you could preorder one and it came in cat green
they quit making those in 2002(mine was an 01) and i believe until this year it was the fastest production sled made. and still isnt far off the pace. 172 horse right out of the box and EASILY bumped up. mine had head work, pipes, clutch work and N2O. they were THE sled to beat even in stock trim. god i miss it. end for end at 140 will pretty much wipe it out though.... |

I want trade my zr in for a cfr 800 with the new 164 horse high output motor. I got to test drive one im Michigan and holy crap. I think the skis were in the air more than they were on the ground. That thing rocked. I have a garage full of cats. Next winter I want to take a trip out west and run the powder bowls!!

i keep trying to talk myself into a smaller trail sled, but everytime i get on one it just doesnt have the oomph. yes they are still fun, but ive always been able to make my rocket sleds very capable trail sleds too. and of course it helps when your willing to let it hang out and scream through the corners anyway! so i just keep drooling over the new 1000's cat has out and waiting until one is a triple again. |

The triple won't come back, they are not very dependable. Problems with the middle cylinder burning up and they are heavy. Take one of the new twins for a ride, you won't be dissapointed. |

ya ive taken a few for a ride. they just dont have the pull. and as far as weight thats what everyone kept telling me buit they could never out run me on the trails with it! lol i put a ton of mile on all 3 of my triples and never had a problem with one of them. although the first thing i did was rejet them and the center cylinder was always a different jet then the 2 outside. so what else are you doing to the bike? |

The list doesn't seem to stop. Last summer I had the head worked, valves, cams and a hi 4 single fire ignition. I had a flat spot in low rpms and take offs so I just got a mukuni 42mm carb and a yost power tube for it. I'm going to get my buell race header and exhaust can tomorow. Ijust got the parts today that I have been waiting on so I am going to get the motor back in it and hopefully put the tires on it. Then the wire harness fun begins! |

I got the motor back in the frame and put the triple trees and handle bars on. next Is the wire harness. I think I am going to replace the oil lines too. Anybody ever do braided lines?

It would look good without out the cover. I will have to ponder on what color? Not shure if I want it green or black? The rear drive pully is black. |
