I know the Drummer is advertised as capable of working perfectly with the stock tune, but I'm curious what those of you who have Drummers have done for tuning. Have you left it stock and had no issues? Have you used an EBR ECM? An unmentionable map? Anyone have any thoughts about any tuning options with that exhaust? I'm planning on having it flashed with the 162 (IIRC) tune and seeing how it goes, but would like to install it with some extra info. PS. Also, any installation tips for the pipe itself? |

left mine stock and love it. The more I ride the better it feels. Go Drummer! |

I had the Ohio tune already when I got my Drummer. Loretta has run like I wanted ever since I used Ohio. A few weeks ago I got the latest, 062 flash - Loretta is an 08 "R". Not sure if the new flash completely re-wrote over my Ohio tune, but it runs very well. 062 seems to be the right maps. All I have done since the flash is kill a few DTCs and observe. Best thing I have done was strip the paint and polish it. It IS Stainless after all...

I sent one to Easyrider so that we could have another option. It should be delivered soon... |

Zac, that does look pretty flash! I know it's inevitable, but looking forward to a whole bike pic to get the full effect. |

Installed K&N and Drummer with 17 miles on the odometer. Approaching 1700 miles now on the CR. Runs and performs perfectly with stock tune. |

Debating polishing the mid-pipe. Kevin said go for it, it's all stainless. Looks like I'm getting a set of fairing lowers after all so it might look better if I leave it black. Here's a shot from a couple of days ago -

Wow, Zac - that looks great! I ran the Drummer on my CR for about 6 months with no issues. In fact, it was better than OEM in every way - better sound, better throttle response, more willingness to rev. Now, though, I am running the Drummer with a certain tune from a certain state and it is even better. Much, much better part-throttle response, wicked pull all the way to the limiter, the engine runs at least 10 degrees cooler, and it feels smoother at all revs. Oh, I did recently add KDFab's sound reducing insert (basically looks like a thimble) and it didn't seem to hurt the power anywhere and dropped the outrageous Drummer noise to a barely-quieter-but-more-pleasing-to-my-ears sound. I'm hoping to get my bike dynoed soon and am going to try a few settings on the tune and then maybe one pass without the insert if I have the time. |

The Drummer runs just fine with the stock tune, but there is a LOT more to be had with the tune. I am running mine with the Ohio Option, and picked up a LOT with the tune. Got on my wifes bone stock CR and rode it for a few days, and got to thinking "there isn't really that much difference, is there?" Then got back on mine, and on the way to work the front wheel left the ground 6 times unintentionally. Big fat midrange that really doesn't come out on the WOT dyno pulls. MAJOR driveablilty improvement. I would love to try the EBR ecm, and probably will. But as good as it runs with the pipe alone, it runs soooooooooo much better with a tune. Zac, if you had it reflashed, you did overwrite the Ohio thing. R |

Not so sure Rob. One of the "big" changes I made was to drop the timing from 12-16 degrees advance to 5.5 for 800-2200rpm@ 0-10%TPS and that is still there after the flash.

So Zac, the new flash is working just fine for you with no adjusting? I took mine out and ran it with the 062 for a long ride (Finally) and must say that I like how this latest flash runs. Feels like there's more power and smoother. |

Well, it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong...! I thought the reflashes completely rewrote the entire ecm. Must not be the case. I stand corrected. R |

Just curious, what's the Ohio tune? How do I check my flash version? New to this stuff. |

Jason - you have mail.... Rob - I'm going to try to get Max to re-run the flash. This flash has had trouble taking, on several of our bikes, so I'll see if a repeat changes anything. Z |
