Bike set up with open airbox w/ breather and micron exhaust running of stock ECM. I've done quite a bit of reading and if I understand correctly the race ECM will get my peak HP at 300 less RPM. Any other advantages (mpg, torque)? With my current setup will I be looking at gaining more benefits? Or should I save the 200 on something better? Thanks. |

More than HP, you should be worried about LEAN. That micron flows a TON of air, and so does your open airbox. You need fuel to match. Get the ECM, you won't regret it. And, your engine will thank you. |

I'm sold, just needed the extra kick to commit. I have a 04 XB12R race ecm, will that work in a 06 XB12X? |

You MUST either remap or get a new ECM for the Micron. The bike is running very lean, and can damage your motor. You can find some pics in the archives of someones ruined motor from it. I bought the map for that same setup from American Sport Bike, and it runs fantastic. |

Will the race ECM make it too rich with an open filter but the stock exhaust? |

Got bike with micron installed. ECM is Y0152.3A8.05220 Is this a "micron" ecm or did he just remap stock ecm to run with micron? Will the dealership have any issues learning a race ecm w/ a micron? |

I've had my stock muffler back on with the race ECM...for a day and a half. Once the AFV relearned, it seemed to run fine. Till I snapped the belt. |

Forgot to mention - there's no muffler servo control with the race ECM, so I have the valve wired open. |

There is no such thing as a Micron ECM. That part number is a stock ECM, whether the programming has been altered you can't say without checking it out in ECMspy. |

Thanks all. Finally got up w/ original owner and he stated that it was remapped by American Sport Bike when purchasing Micron. Saves me some cash. So anyone need a race ECM? |
