hi! does anybody know if buell makes some kind of a guard for the radiator. ive been lookin for a while now and havent come up with anything. it would be much appreciated for the help. |

The plastic radiator cover is a guard for the radiator. It was designed to absorb a blow in the event the bike ends up on its side. If you take everything apart you will notice leaf springs. |

yea for the the actual rad. i dont like how the rad is right behind the front wheel. |

Thats the oil cooler. I am not aware of any protection options, but then again I have never heard of any issues with them getting damaged. |

ok. thats good to know. thanks for your help. i rode a 86 gsxr 1100 for years. im just learning about all this new technology. i cant beleive the difference. thank again! |

There is a company called Cox Racing that makes radiator grilles for all kinds of bikes but they don't have anything listed for any Buells. I have one of their grilles for my R6 and I love the peace of mind of just having it there. If you find some mesh material it shouldn't be too hard to cut it and zip tie it to the cooler. I may end up doing that as a little DIY mod once it warms up. |
