Selling my XB9R. I had intended to get a Xb12x or xt. But think I may pick up a 1125. I like the fairing on The R, but my hands and wrists are killin me after riding the xbr. I think the 1125cr with the high bar may be easer on my wrists and hands, but I can not find any aftermarket windshields. Most of my riding is not on the interstate though. Anyone with seat time on the r and cr have any suggestions? It looks like I will need to drive out to Houston to get the bike. Mancuso seems to be the only dealer near me with any stock. Any one here have any dealings with them? |

I hope to take a test ride on the 2 bikes before picking one up, but trying one with the American Sport Bike kit will not be an option... |

Gbaz- I bought a 1125CR with high bars from Mancuso Houston Crossroads a couple of weeks ago. Had never dealt with them before and probably will not use them for service because of distance but my buying experience was just fine. Had them deliver to me as part of the deal. Bike is great, zero problems. Every ride gets a little more comfortable, I like the high bars. Robin was my sales person, easy to work with, not pushy. BTW, I also saw some CRs at Central Texas H-D in Round Rock last Saturday. Very good Buell parts guy there named Jay. |

If your arms and wrists hurt riding any sport bike, you're not doing it right. Your core muscles should be holding you up, not your arms and wrists. |

Wrists and hands. No arm problems. I was a combat engineer in the army and had a I beam roll over em when we were building a bridge. It does not cause me problems untill I ride. Had none of the same problems with my blast, or pegaso. I was looking at a few used 1125 cr's. Best price for a As new bike I've seen is 5800. New with dealer fee is about 7400. Think I may spend the extra 1500-1600 and get a new one. Whistler. What kind of a price did they give you? Pm me if you don't want to post it for whatever reason. |

It does take a bit of getting used to though - my last bike had Renthals on and when I first got the R I thought I'd have to do a high bar conversion on it (have everything I need to do it in boxes in the garage!) but after riding it for a while now I doubt if I ever will.. One thing to note if you are jumping on the R after being used to "higher" bars is that with the clipons in front of the forks the steering is a bit "direct". My first couple of miles were actually quite wobbly and I thought the bike was "unstable". Now I have revised that view and realised it's my old bike that was "slower steering" and the 1125 is amazingly good. The CR has a more "traditional" feel (IMHO) in that it steers quickly - but only about as quickly as my old bike. Either bike is great, if you don't go on the freeway overly much and don't go 100+mph everywhere then the CR might be better as the gearing is different. On the other hand the R is actually quite comfie for a sports bike and the American Superbike bars would make a difference too (as would some Uly pegs). Enjoy your test rides |

If you go with the CR I highly recommend the high bar kit. The clubmans on the CR never really did it for me in the ergo dept. (they do however look very trick). YMMV |

I don't know this for sure. I seem to remember reading on this board somewhere that HD had discontinued the high bar kit for the CR. I might be totally wrong about it. Just though I'd mention it so you check on availability before committing to a CR. However.. I might just be confused.

Gbaz- Let me say this up front. I wanted a new CR and since they don't make them anymore, price was not my priority. Also, my wife sells cars and I don't like to beat up too hard on the sales person or the dealer. I do my homework and make what I think is a fair offer for both parties. Most times it works out OK for everyone. Bike price is somewhat blurred as I traded in a SV650S. Without the trade, I figure I paid $7500 including the high bar kit installed, five year warranty, and delivery/pickup (plus a cup of coffee, two tees and a chocolate cake). They had a CR on the showroom floor with the high bar as a demo. That bike had 54 miles on her so we looked at all of the inventory for lowest mileage. Found several with seven miles on the clock and one with six. I took the bike with six miles, they installed the bars and delivered two working days later. If I remember correctly, all the inventory we looked at had factory make dates of April '09. Everything took maybe 1.5 hours. Good hunting. |

Thanks for the info Whistler. Ill give him a call, but i dont think he will deliver to New Orleans... hdwrenchtx - ill take a look at your posting in the class section, but like i said its hard to get a used bike whrn the new ones are only 1500 more. |
