Well, it happened. This morning, pulling out of the driveway with a not completely warm motor, I rolled off of the sloped curb and popped my newly moved clutch lever killing the motor.

Not a big deal except I was being sloppy on how I rolled off of the curb. The engine died and my left foot was too far from the ground to catch me.

So, me and the bike landed on our butts next to the sidewalk.

Embarrassing for a newbie. Shameful on someone who has been riding as long as I have.

The important part though is that embarrassment is usually temporary and goes away when you laugh at it, scratched parts don't.

The checking the bike for damage, the only scratches were a slight scuff on the left pod and a good gouge out of my DarkHorseMoto EcoSlider on the swingarm.

Without the slider, I gouge have a very similar gouge out of the end of my swingarm.

So, thanks Skully and DHM. You made my day.

... and that's exactly why I'm padding up the CR, lol. Uly frame pucks on order, DHM sliders coming next paycheck (I think think DHM160BA will suit me nicely) along with Rizoma weighted bar ends, and EBR swingarm pucks shortly after that.

Glad the girl's okay!

Keith's parts are amazing... That delrin does a great job at absorbing the impact and it's easy to replace! I still need to order two buttons for my wife's bike that I low sided in a corner back in November.

Most of the time that 6" does not make any difference. Unless you were expecting solid ground to be there, OOOOPS! Been there done that, lived to tell about it.

I did a 1-2mph fall over in the parking lot when my engine died. Worst damage was my pride and the LCD touch screen on my 8925 TIlt ($180.00 at the time).

My other time was on my X3 when it's engine died in a hard left no speed turn. Slow motion fall over! That one cost me a right bi-cep (still torn).

Yep. I was sort of shocked when I realized I was on the ground. Fully expected that I was going to catch it and wasn't worried about it until I found myself on my ass.

Argh! I just found the reason for my incident this morning.

Last night, I put on some Acerbis handguards. The one on the right side changed position when I tightened it down and is rubbing on the throttle, causing it to stick just a tiny bit. It is just enough that my normal pressure on the throttle didn't open it as much as it normally would have resulting in the engine not revving enough to handle the rate at which I dropped the clutch.

Geez, failure as a rider and as a mechanic all in the same day.

Hmm, it's like that old joke about those that need to joke...............oh well never mind ;+} (why stop at only 6?)

Good to hear you figured out what the issue was. When I adjust my TM I always make sure it doesn't bind or hang up.
