No. I have to admit. I was the one at the back of the pack. Bryan did pretty well keeping up. But this old man had to drop back after the first 3 hours of twisties and floater hills. I was looking for dramamine in SE Ohio. (IMHO)You need to post more pictures of me.(Just Kidding). |

Dumbass, in the only picture of me IN there I'm the only one riding. That one picture was taken from a Eagle Talon that Erik (the VFR guy) was leading back ot the freeway in. I was doing pretty good keeping up with XB9 and his buddy on an SV650 (both former road racers) until we hit the really hilly part and they got out of sight. After that I slowed down, not knowing which way things were going over those hills. LOADS of fun. The first two days were the most fun I've ever had on my bike. Thanks to XB9 for showing us some GREAT roads. Bryan a.k.a. Darth the Road Racer edited by darthane on June 18, 2003 |

Is it just me, or does Erik appear a bit intimidated by... "The Gut". |

That's what XB9 called me when I pulled up next to him later in the first day. LOL...my chicken stripes are just as small as yours, dickhead. 3/8" or less. You can't see it since I only got it once, but I ran all the way to the edge on the right side in a wicked decreasing radius exit ramp that XB9 neglected to mention to us...and that was in the rain. Heehee...you're just pissed because you were stuck at home dismantling your motor while I was out having fun on roads better than anything within 150 miles of home. Bryan |

Mbsween, What's up, man? You gonna come back to the gap next month? Maybe you'll be awake when you get to the lookout point? heehee. If you popped a gasket, I'd highly recommend doing a metal primary gasket! I believe H-D has updated (FINALLY) to metal gaskets instead of the crap paper ones...I sprung a leak on the M2 at track day; replaced it with metal, ran at red line all day the next track day, and its still dry WOOHOO Frank |

STraigh line speed doesn't matter on the track or Battle Trax or even the twisties. |

No shit, but since we've never raced anywhere BUT the drag strip, you're just talking out of your ass. Besides, your bike has to be RUNNING to beat anything other than a tree in a race. Bryan |

I'll probably never take my Firebolt out on BattleTrax - I'll be the first to admit that that low-speed shit is NOT something I'm good at. I'll happily take the Blast out on the parking lot - I was riding my 'bolt those days. Flame war, sure. We live together, dude, if I've got a serious beef with you it won't be aired here. The only two times you and I have ridden even sort of twisty roads together I was on my Blast and had been riding all of two weeks, or it was the first time I'd been on that road. Sorry if I choose to err on the side of caution - I like keeping both my bikes and my hide in one piece. As to 'seeing me on the track', no you probably won't. Since I've never done it before I will be taking the Novice course. If I do well and/or it proves too easy for me, I will go to Intermediate, then finally Advanced. No doubt you, in your infinite biking ability, will be taking the Advanced course. |

50 was awesome, Jose, thank you for suggesting it. Just the right mix of awesome mountain switchbacks and nice straights/sweepers to relax on and enjoy the scenery. I went through the second mountain (near Romney?) three times! I apologize for not having the pics of the SV650 posted yet - my camera was left in Gettysburg and I'm still waiting for it to catch up with me. How is the lady friend doing? Bryan |

MB, Is that your gut that is intimidating Erik? LOL! If you are gonna tote that thing around everywhere, be proud of it amigo; I'm sure you worked long and hard to cultivate it. Texas hospitality? I dunno, but you'd fit right in down here in the land of the all-you-can-eat buffet. No fence intended. Feel free to rebut with jokes about my hairy knuckles. Or as a football coach I once knew used to say... "It's not my gut. I'm pregnant with a baby elephant. . . Wanna see the trunk?" |

I remember on the ride between Killeen and Austin people would pull over on the shoulder to let us bikes pass. Now thats hospitality Now way back in catholic school the nuns told us the other side of your hand got hairy........

Linda's doing fine, she's still in crutches and will be for a while. She complains about the pain and the typical "why me" stuff, but I try to keep reminding her to not get depressed because she didn't loose her leg or bleed to death. For those who are wondering what I'm talking about, Linda crashed her SV on US50 on Friday 6/6 while we were headed towards Columbus. She broke her left femur right above the knee and smashed the bike up to the point that the insurance company totaled it. So we never made it to the trip, but I did manage to visit everybody at Morgantown, which was about 45 miles away from the hospital in Oakland, MD, where Linda was taken. She has a new steel plate with about 12 screws holding everything together. Add this one to the rod in her left leg (skiing) and the other rod in her arm (hit by car while bicycling) and she is well on her way to becoming Ms. Wolverine. I'll try to scan some pics later when I get a chance. I have not been spending too much time on the computer lately. We bought the bike back from the ins. company with the intention is to turn it into a track bike. I think the frame and engine are still in good shape, so it will be my little winter project. My Buell ran fine until it spit out it's left front wheel bearing balls that same Friday night as I rode back home to go get my pickup truck to go get Linda's bike and go back to the hospital. It now sits in my garage on stands waiting for new bearings, which should arrive someday. Some things never change. edited by josé_quiñones on June 19, 2003 |

Jose, sorry to hear about Linda's crash. Please give her my warmest regards. Hope I lived closer to you guys to come and visit. Two of my friends have recently dropped their bikes in what appears to be a trend of the people I know. |

All Linda sends everyone her thanks for the sentiments. She's doing better, but is having trouble sleeping. Keith LOL, Fortunately, there is a SHEETS gas station in Oakland so she could get her daily Cappucino fix. I had to walk from the Hospital to the Gas station every morning to go get it! |
