I would assume you would just clean the area with alcohol, let dry, do a test fit without the adhesive exposed then stick that sucker on there. If it's really cold I'd heat up the frame/tank area a little with a hair dryer or heat gun (not blasting hot, just up to room temp). Same for the adhesive on the puck. At least, that's how I'm going to do mine when they come in on Fri. |

Read the instructions. It is very straight forward, use the alcohol based cleaning thing it comes with and clean off the frame. Peel the back off it, and stick it on. |

Removal of the pods might help in getting it where you really want it. They're kinda close to the frame, so taking them off will make it a little easier. |

Would really mind breaking that sentence down into separate lines, each one numbered, just so I won't miss anything. |

I take it you being new to riding and new bike your not riding around in this weather where you at right now anyways (I sure as hell am not but we got a lot of snow n salt here) so if you feel its too cold hold off a little while, you won't need them on right now anyways. But if you really wanna just keep the pucks in your house so there at normal temp, and go heat your frame up with a blow dryer. It should stick fine! PS if it was your baby it would be INSIDE your nice warm house for winter like mine haha just kiddin with ya (my bike really is inside tho) |

Bought em from St. Paul Harley in my home town, back in Minnesota. Figured $45.00 is worth my frame if it helps. Don't get to drive more than about 50mph on base anyway, and the occasional 90mph on the freeway. More worried about my steeply inclined crappy Army-base driveway. They fit great on my 09 1125CR. Almost perfect fit. The rear-edge of the pods is in the way only slightly. Didn't take pods off, as I had a gap big enough. Had the wife pull slightly, and prepped it, and stuck. About 60degrees that day. I used her hair-dryer to heat up the pucks slightly, as well as the metal frame. She and I pressed em on perfectly, and let it sit under the sun that was thankfully out for 4 hours. Drove it the next day. Checked the adhesive tape. Still holding strong, and gave it a few tugs. No real movement. Cant even see em from over 50 feet away, and have to stare to focus on em at 25 feet anyway. I think they look stock almost. Added protection for my frame, and looks nice. rubber matches the forward cowl edges on my lobster-pods. Nice! (Message edited by 1125CaffinatedRacer on March 03, 2010) |

Curious, in a low side, would the frame pucks even hit the ground with the Pods? I don't recall a wreck on an 1125 that had frame damage in that area. Now i have seen damage in that area on an 1125 that was completely totaled. I guess i wonder if its $50 well spent or not! |

I have 1/2" long scratches in the corner of the triangle from my last crash. The frame can definitely hit. |

Ive seen some crash photos of scraps on the frame right above the pods. Looks like as if the bike rolled onto the frame. |

Hell for 50 bucks you cant beat peace of mind. Bobbuell1961 if you look at the uly crash pads on an 1125r thread there is another link in that thread that will bring you to pics of the pads on a cr |

This is starting to sound like a "must-do" particularly since I am in the middle of fabricating new radiator covers that will be much smaller. I guess I'll see if I can get any locally. (Message edited by ratsmc on March 03, 2010) |

Certainly not a "must do" if you never crash. I know better about me. I think a new frame costs about $1300, or you could weld up holes you make. Bad thoughts. BTW the scratches I have I plan to get filled with JP Weld before my next race in a week. I don't want to think about getting them filled in with aluminum weld and what that would do to the strength of the frame. If I'd had my pucks on when I crashed I don't think I would have the scratches. |

I have gotten pretty safe in my old age but there is still the occasional "WFT?", like the time the basketball rolled out from between parked cars. Even doing 15MPH a fall is a fall. |

Try your local dealer - as they are fitted to Ulys' from the factory I assume that they are classed as parts, not accessories. Failing that, keep an eye on Ebay. |

You can buy them separately, but it costs more that way and it doesn't come with the instructions or the frame cleaner. |
