The 1074cc stroked/bored two valve bevel drive rising rate monoshock Ducati Desmo with mechanical antidive, 16inch front wheel that was a bitch to kickstart with octane boosted race fuel etc that I built in the 1980 and sold when I got married, what a mistake (both the marriage and selling the bike) but my 1125R comes next followed by my Firebolt |

This is an interesting question for a few reasons. First is our association with a bike and the times. I see a lot of small light and probably first bikes on this list that people have. I'm no different. My Yamaha DT100 was uber-fun. A joy to ride and work on. It also for the first time gave me the freedom to explore areas outside my local neighborhood. Add gas, two-cycle oil and away it went on dirt and roads.
But outside of that association with a bike, each bike I've owned in the past 30 years has had a special meaning to me and each has been fun in their own way. But looking at every single bike I've owned outside the '79 DT100, I would have to say my Ulysses is my hands-down favorite. It has all the right gear. It can corner, it can handle two-up, and more importantly, it can tour all while being an absolutely fun bike to ride. That's not to light the CR, but the Uly is more fun in my book.

Ok I'm really going against the grain and gonna piss off somebody but.....the most funnest bike I ever had was a 15" cannondale Mt. Bike All aluminum frame & fork with all road bike gears (2 chain rings up front not 3 with 52 teeth) and high pressure kevlar road tires. It weighed less than 19 pounds and I was all the cc's it needed. Next my brand new shiny red 1125R is a close 2nd. |

The best bike I ever owned is my M2 88,000 miles so far A DT100 Yamaha that kept me pushing more than riding I couldnt get Can Am parts when Rotax pulled a harley in the 80s but atleast they sold it Those two bike caused me to get out of bikes for 20 years. Yamaha was junk and the Can Am Parts problem just wore me out. |

My bike that was the most fun to me was my xr100 I had as a kid second most fun was my first xb9r so I am hoping that this xb9r I just bought about a month or so ago will be just as fun if not more fun. The only problem is I have only had 3 dirt bikes and 4 street bikes 3 of which were buells. The One that was not a buell was a zx9r which was plenty fast but was a pig in the corners compared to any one of the buells. |

I suspect none of us has ever bought a bike that we didn't think was the coolest thing in the paddock the day we bought it. That said (after 8 bikes), and with only 5k on the odo, I'm going with my 1125R! |

Love them Snortin' Nortons. First bike I ever did the "ton" on was an 850 Commando.It was a friends bike. Not as agile as my RD350 when we got into the tighter stuff, but a great handler compared to most other "big bikes" of the era. One winter morning after the graveyard shift, we tried to kickstart his Commando and the oil was so cold he had to jump up and down on the kickstarter before the kicklever would move an inch! |
