I was at the tail end of the practice and did not see what happened, and don't want to speculate. I met Skip briefly in the garage and he was really nice, enthusiastic guy. I didn't realize he was the one involved in the incident until near the end of the day. A gut check for sure. RIP 55x. |

BIG update, apparently the Police took Skip's bike for evidence yesterday after the crash, and told his close friend Scott that Skip had passed away. This is not correct, Skip is in critical condition with a head injury, and multiple broken bones. This is much better news, my prayers are with him and all his family, and let's all hope he can make a full recovery. I'll try and keep you posted with any updates. Pat Mooney. |

Second update, I just spoke to AHRMA officials and they have told me that as of last night Skip was "responsive" this is hopefully going to work out well. Wes and I apologize for giving out the wrong information that we had been given to us, again my prayers to Skip and family. |

Read this in this mornings paper...note mention of "Skip" at end of article. Also know confiscation of equipment is 'SOP' in certain accidents. Personal knowledge from loss of Randy Glenn, Daytona, 1989. http://www.news-journalonline.com/racing/other/201 0/03/02/longtime-rider-achieves-racing-dream.html |

Do we need to set up a fund for him? Often racers do not have enough health insuracne to really take care of stuff like this. Even with insurance he may need cash to take care of personal business. Does anyone here know him? Is he married? Can someone take up the cause? I am way too overloaded to do a decnet job of it. |

Man, i feel like a total heal, but if i had to be wrong about something, this is the best possible scenario. As Pat said, the police and track official both indicated the worst had occurred up until yesterday evening . I apologize profusely to Skip and his family/friends. for forwarding incorrect information. He is not out of the woods yet and it sounds like his injuries are severe (I got this information from his friend who went to the hospital last night). Skip has friends and family by his side and we are all rooting for him. I hope to soon share a beer and a laugh over this with him. Apologies all around and my thoughts/prayers are with Skip and his family. |
