I'm not talking about the trolls. I'm talking about new Buell owners such as myself who probably otherwise wouldn't have bought a Buell (since I have 2 other bikes in the garage) being blanketed into a statement that now seems to be a running joke in this thread. Or the blanket statement by some that because guys like me (who ride well over 12,000-13,000 miles a year) who buy a Buell at 1/2 price that we're not worthy because we may not go educate ourselves on everything Buell. Its why I specifically mentioned trolls in my post. I like to think I (and apparently a few other new Buell owners of the last 6 months)have added to the enthusiasm of the brand and the bike with participating here and hopefully finding out some cool stuff and sharing my excitement with owning an 1125. So if my buying a bike at 1/2 price (that I wouldn't have otherwise purchased) and being new to the community here makes me trash and unwelcome to the club for some, let me know. |

Sburns,..what are you doing here if you don't own a Buell? What does "parts in a few years" have to do with the fueling and vice versa? . I dont have a problem with discussing our bikes issues (i have 2 Buells). I also dislike bullying, on the other hand seems like yours is a post aimed at all things Buell, not just one problem like fueling, or what have you. What do you suppose we do with our bikes then,..since youre mentioning parts in the future ? Are you here advocating we should switch to some other brand ? Because thats exactly what this sounds like and i personally couldn't care less what you think is a better bike. |

Now I ask you when the last time that every journalist that tested a new bike from say, Suzuki, Honda, or even Ducati commented on how poor the fuel injection was to use? Contrarily, poor fueling is one of the most common issues with today's sportbikes. I won't disagree the 1125r had their early fueling issues, however the illusion that other makes of motorcycles have perfect fueling out of the box is simply not true. |

You are absolutely correct. Buell did what SEEMED like a great idea. Folks had always begged to see the "in development" product . . . this seemed like a cool deal to have input from riders, media and so forth during the final 5% of the development. Buell built 100 bikes, put them all over the world, let owners ride them on tracks, street and all over . . ditto journalists. It SEEMED like a good idea. Turns out it was right up there with the Rainbow Paint program and High Voltage Yellow. Buell up. Kinda cool to see them, however, be the first company to make such a ballsy move. It was, in retrospect a mistake and you are 100% correct. |

No one has said nor inferred that. Quit your self serving whining, man up, get in the conversation or shut up and sit on the side and watch. |

I recently read a short review on the new KTM 990 SMT in Cycle World (my subscription is now over, thank goodness) where the low rpm throttle response was mentioned as being less than perfect. Basically if it is even mentioned as anything other than perfect, no matter how soft the language, it is very likely pretty bad. Check most reviews of Japanese literbikes and at least one of them gets bad comments concerning fueling. The 600cc bikes don't seem to have a problem nearly as much, but that is mainly due to their lack of low rpm power masking the problems. The fueling problems mentioned in the media with the early 08 1125R bikes did hurt its reputation. However, since then the new ECM flashes have more or less cleared up those issues. I know some guys claim to have poor running bikes even after getting the newer maps, and maybe they did, but that hasn't been my experience. Unfortunately you can only make one first impression though. Oh yeah, and before I forget here is the latest definition update from Merriam-Webster: Main Entry: trailer park Function: noun Date: 1942 : an area equipped to accommodate mobile homes and discounted Buell motorcycles —called also trailer camp, trailer court |

Wasn't that High Voltage Yellow great . . . . . we sure, by the time we did Molten Orange, learned a lot about painting. My first S1 was HVY before it got the PWB Carbon Fiber body set for Daytona in 1997. |

No one has said nor inferred that. Quit your self serving whining, man up, get in the conversation or shut up and sit on the side and watch. Excuse me? I thought I was. The forum rules (in part)are being a fan of Buell (which I am) and contribute positively to the discussion (which I have). To which I've heard blanket statements in this thread about people being trailer trash for not getting in on Buell until they were 1/2 price or not knowing/appreciating everything there is to know about Buell. Blake, (who I assume is the moderator or originator of this board) took a quote of mine and applied to one person. If people want to call out a troll, hey man, I'm all for that. I've done it myself in other threads. As I said, trolls are everywhere on the net. But when I read a running joke on here about what some people in here think owners are who bought bikes when the company was shut down as I have I tend to take a little offense to it...your smarta$$ comments only add fuel to the fire. You wanna call someone out? Call them out. I'm not into generalizations. This thread actually had me with the back and forth (even if it was arguing with a troll) and talking truthfully about the bike and whether a troll is being truthful in their experience or just being perceived as stupid. (which they either aren't being truthful or they're trying to flame someone or they bought a bike without studying up on it.) So excuse the hell out of me when I read threads in here from a seemingly good bunch of people who then start slamming new owners whether intentional or not. Tell you what...why don't YOU man up and admonish those people. Because my view is that those statements ARE NOT positively adding to the discussion. |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/543478.jpg I wanted that bike since the first time I saw one. I quit looking into bikes for a few years. I bought my HD in 04 while vacationing in Iraq but there was never mention of Buell when I went in there. The place in Germany was much of the same. The largest auto/cycle dealer in the DOD is Ramstein AB Germany. I never once saw Buell anything on the floor or on the walls. They always had sportys vrods or a wideglide or 4 but I cant recall ever seeing a Buell on the floor there. |

Eece_ret, Thanks for keeping us informed. Please let us know when you get this taken care of, and how they fixed the problem. This will be very helpful to others if they have the same issue. Hopefully you can get that "Bug" kicked, and get back to riding, when you get your bike back. |

Called the shop today. Keeping my fingers crossed, however from what I am being told, the bike should be ready by this afternoon/tomorrow. They affixed kit: R1022.1AM to correct the water pump weep, updated the stator/rectifier as part of the recall, and replaced the rear turn signals (they failed). Now... How do I get it home in torrential rain... |
