I have the EBR subframe, which leaves little for the undertail plastic to attach to. I have the flexiglass undertail. Who has installed this combo? Ideas and pics?

I have considered going back to the stock undertail, but it would have the same issues.

Fresno, I want to make up something like the TaylorMade tail piece (used on the 1125RR on EBR's new web site). I think you are close to having what you need. Flexiglass sells a seat pan, which can be had through Pete at GSD. I plan to use the seat pan, and the undertail and tail I already have from Pete.

What do you think of cutting the undertail to the correct length to fit over the end of the subframe? Then you could trim it up and glass it to the tailsection. Add a seat pan and you have what would look like the Taylormade (which costs $550).

Not only could this be lighter, it would take the hassle out of removing the tail. There would be no stock seat to fight with.

I also would like to replace the wiring harness with the race item from EBR. With a smaller battery (I already have the Speedcell from Josh Kaufman), the front of the undertail attached to the subrame and mounting the electrics to it, you would have a pretty clean installation.

Jdugger did something like this. If you need a link to the thread where he talks about it let me know.

What do you think?

Edit: I misspelled Josh's name.

Please send me that link to Jim's solution. I have to run to watch the USA-Canada hockey finals. GO USA! I'll check in later.

Jim's post. Notice that he put his tail together without a pan under the electrics. If you already have a pan, you could cut it to the length of the subframe and mount your electrics on it. Then glass the back half of the pan to the tail.

BTW how about a road trip to Texas? Myself and a bunch of the racers from Arroyo Seco are going to Jim's track in August for their two day track day at Eagles Canyon Raceway. The only reason I'm going is to see Jim's bike.

The stock subframe has mounting points for the undertail in the middle. The EBR subframe is much shorter--the mounting points have been lost.

I suppose I could make some brackets and dzus fastners, but I would rather not.
