why would HD not warrant that?, the spool is not destroyed just skuffed, the clutch cover is undamaged that cracked engine case was not caused by a low side I would bet 100.00$ on it, the question is will HFD honor the warranty, and will the dealer actualy try to help this guy? I am aware 1st hand of an 1125 motor that was replaced on a new bike outright I am not sure if the owner got it home b4 the motor issue surfaced, it was replaced. NQA 1190 on the street, you might want to go sand your bench some more. sheesh..... |

I just checked the manual and that top bulge is where the end of the crank protrudes. The cam drive gear and the bottom of the guide are there but I doubt that's the problem. I'm not going to speculate on how but I will say I really hope HD takes care of it. |

I bet if you pull a cover off and shake it, parts will come out... |

wow this is a very serious group sorry the 1190 sheeeesh seemed like such a fun idea anyway, good luck at the dealer. this seems like an obvious warranty issue with only few miles... even with a low side you should be golden. todd |

That scuff on that side is from a driveway spill....the scuff on the other side is from a 20mph low side...I can show pictures if it appeases the all great and judging... But anyways the dealer is closed here today since it's Sunday on this part of the world, guess I'll find out tomorrow what happened. Sucky thing is I was on the way to a bike show and drag they were having here on the island when it happened. Luckily it blew about 1/8 mile away from the front gate of the base out here. |

Anyways, I really don't have any fears about getting over on the warranty... If HD doesn't take care of it, Military Sales Exchange will back me up on it. |

I pulled away from a red light infront of our base, shifted from 1st to second, then at about 10k or so went to shift to third.... bike did a crazy wobble and was completely silent. I though I blew a tire or something, tried restarting the engine while I was still rolling... nothing. So I pulled over to check what happened... |

> Have fun getting 15mpg and spending $25 everytime to fill it up!! More like $50! Race gas is $10ish/Gallon! That was one of the major reasons I didn't go with the Race ECM tune for my track bike, and went with the pump gas one instead. I didn't need to spend an extra $50-$100 a day just on fuel. Fooking tires and brakes are bad enough! |

Please keep us informed how HD deals with you. I hope you get a new engine and no hassles. |

just the larger engine. consensus seems that 1125s are overcarbureted from the factory. Wouldn't that make an 1190 w/oem throttle bodies proportionally less carbureted, more evenly matched for the street? After that its ECM tuning like all the rest. dannybuell |

VinB; please continue with your thoughts. I need to learn to express myself better. I see you are from Mass. Your state has the highest literacy rate in the nation. My writing skills are so poor, any help would be appreciated. THX dannybuell |

the way i look at those big throttle bodies is, they leave alot more room to make the oomph grow without going to bigger throttle bodies like many other applications require. |

dannybuell during those sessions to improve your literacy be sure to point out that there not carburetors there throttle body's should be THEY ARE not carburetors THEY ARE throttle BODIES

THX to all. I remember a velocity stack thread not too long ago. It seemed that if there was some narrower than the throttle body diameter tubing on top of the TBs the performance went up. The hillbilly, nascar, gearhead in me saw that tuning effort as a well thought out controlled restriction. This person was not dismissed or demonized by the thought police. This implied consensus to me. sorry. dannybuell |
