I know that S1 Buells used a WP fork and that later on a Showa fork was used on S3 and X1 models.

Is either one preferable to the other? (WP vs Showa)

What are the advantages of each?

I am interested because I am considering a new fork for my M2.

Thanks,

Dave

Why not XB forks and pick up perimeter braking and low unsprung weight in the deal?
If you have PM wheels - I understand, otherwise.....

don't discount the ROMA forks of the S2s, a lot of early racers loved them!! very adjustable!

i have a set that may make their way onto the S1W!!

I agree, XB forks/wheels is the way to go. I have the wheels on my bike, will have the forks next week.

What modifications did you have to do to the rear to use the XB wheel?

Was the XB triple a direct bolt up or where there modifications?

I had some old Hals spacers, but I believe them to be originally for thr conversion on an aluminum arm, because I had to cut them down and cut my rear caliper bracket to make them fit. If you notice, I'm running stock WP ROMA forks at the moment, with a home-built adapter. This was always planned as a temporary setup and "proof of concept". I will be using '04 forks, which will slide into my stock triples. XB triples will fit, however you have to use the steering stem of the tuber or any HD because the XB stem is 1/4" shorter
