Dumb question, I just bought a used 1125R; is there 2 oil drain plugs? can after market oil filter be found, other than dealership; too far away; one says crankcase, one says engine oil in manuel on the web.
Thanks
Tommy

Yes theres 2 different oil drains. One on each side of the bike (basically). One is a bolt head and the other is a torques. As far as other oil, I dropped the HD garbage after my first change, and went with Castrol 4T that you get at Oreillys for like 3.99 a quart. I always run the 20/50. That oil has done better for me than the 15 dollar/qt HD stuff.

K&N part number is KN-556. Its not advertised for the 1125R but its the only K&N for it. Its also used for the Aprilia, Can Am, and Sea-Doo engines. AKA BRP Rotax. The one advertised for Buell on the K&N Website is for the Firebolt. There are 2 screws in the case that holds the oil filter in and a drain plug on the left side...and a drain plug facing the ground in the crank case on the right side. Unless you have bought a rear stand or have a lift it could be a pain in the a$$ the first time. Unless your pan is low profile. Pit-Bull has a rear stand that uses the swingarm instead of swingarm spools. kind of nice since the 08's dont have a spot for spools.

Kenneth:
Have you confirmed the specs and dimensions of the K&N to the OEM?

Thx

Man, I would love to find a K&N oil filter. Please if someone can confirm, do so.

Redliner, have you used the K&N? The specs show to be taller than the 3.75" oem replacement. Just want to make sure it's just a typo on the K&N site before ordering.
