Hogzilla,
Good info!
I was curious if anyone had used one of these, and what they thought of it.

Petethekiller,
Sorry for suggesting the EXO-1000, without hands on experience.
I guess this would not be a nice option, if the full face is designed the same as the half helmet, my bad!

Yeah, if they fixed some of the issues that I saw in the half, then it's not bad. I really love the idea of the two in one, the half helmet just didn't work well. Outside of that, the Scorpion is a nice, solid helmet. The full faced Scorpions didn't fit my mellon well so it's a no go for me.

Thought I could chime in here. I also own the EXO-1000 scorpion helmet in matte black. I do have to agree with Hogzilla on the retractable visor. At first I thought it was nice that the visor didn't encompass the bottom 1/3 of your view so that you could view the gauge without tint, but after a while it feels that there is a fine line between viewing in tint and not and it becomes more of a distraction when you can see in your peripheral vision non-tint. Once I bought the full faced dark tint shield I never use the retractable visor.

This in my first helmet so I have nothing to compare it to, but I have been satisfied for 2 seasons. It has good air flow because of all the vents but it is loud and I wear earplugs. It also has the 'Reebok' pump up pads to customize the fit. Which again I was sold on initially, but now I would want just a well fitted helmet. It is also quite large and heavy, when the season first starts my neck hurts until I build of the muscle again.

I guess I was also sold because I later found out they lace the helmets with a chocolate scent (which actually lasts a long time)...aaaahhh consumer seduction is a fine art...

I am wearing the helmet in my profile pic. My G/F is sporting the Dahlia 700 series helmet, which she loves, and I must say is pretty pimpin for a girls helmet.

I would buy another scorpion just not the 1000 series.

The Scorpion EXO400 is supposed to be a nice helmet in that price range. I use an HJC for commuting, good helmet for the price, and one of the simplest visor retention systems ever.

After trying on several HJC, Scorpion and Shark Helmets I went with this online buy...
http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no =539

I could have got a similar model locally for $129.00 but I did not like the paint as much. I sat in the Kawasaki dealership with a helmet on my head for 20 minutes and liked the Scorpion the best for overall fit and quality. THe Shark was very nice but pricey.

Thanks for the help guys

Of the helmets I have/do own...
KBC: Decent, vents rattle, kinda heavy. Very inexpensive. Would buy again
Seven Zero Seven: Inexpensive, not many adjustable vents, but pretty darn light and does not rattle at all. All in all not bad, would buy again.
Scorpion
EXO400: Inexpensive, great feel, fits great, love this helment, wear it often. Would most definately buy again.
EXO700: Similar to the 400 just nicer (and I got it on sale for 70$, cannot go wrong at that price for this helmet, keep it aside for Track days and the occasional Berryessa GP run ; )

In the end though, helmets are very much a personal thing, what I love might feel like a migraine to others. So yeah YMMV

I have two Scorpion EXO 700 and an RF1000...the Scorpion is comfortable and a real value.
