I got over to Texas World Speedway on Monday and had a little fun on the track. Courtesy of a fellow Badwebber, I was able to get some great Hi-Def footage using the new GoPro HD. I just youtube-posted a short clip of a WOT pull onto the straightaway. This is my 2008 with HMF, K&N, and *** tune. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zV32XH26fZI The AFV's are out of the box 110/115 PFU levels. I did verify with a wideband that they were just fine with my combo. MAN O'MAN!! This bike outright jumps from 80mph to 100 and keeps hauling well up to 140. The track was still cold and I didn't want to push too deep into the straight away, so I let off early. I still hit high 130s, low 140s every time. Concerning the video, the ignition key got in the way of the 3rd digit on the speedo. Hopefully, you can tell I was hitting 13x/14x and how quick I got there. I didn't really open it up till I was actually on the straight. You should be able to hear the difference in exhaust tone when I actually hit WOT. I'm definitely happy with how my setup has turned out. Two thumbs up for the tune that shall not be named. --Kevin. Brings back memories of seeing Don Canet bang into the rev limiter on an XB12R street bike. He was hitting 137 mph verified by radar gun. The XBRR crew (Jeremy McWilliams, Mike Cicotto, Steve Crevier, and Dan Bilansky) were hitting near or over 170 MPH. Jezza posted one lap trap speed at 174 mph, on an XBRR. Flying! Cicotto was a hard rider; he hit the transition into the infield so hard once that he cracked the muffler open. He was a balls to the wall racer. I wish now I'd taken some video. Great memories. Thanks guys, I just finished loading another HD video up, this time from a rearward-facing angle mounted on the nose of the bike. Hopefully it will be finished processing by the time you get the link. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBKJJIZYvDw --Kevin |

Superb - thanks for sharing.. What's wrong with the sky in Tx - it's a funny colour (blue).. I thought the sky was always a dull grey everywhere or am I just being jealous! How did you mount the camera on the nose? |

The GoPro setup Keith (Lovedabueller) has uses a very strong lever-action suction cup. For the first video, the mount was placed on the airbox cover. It was placed just below the windscreen, outside the front fairing, for the second video. The suction cup just plain worked! I just watched the first video again... I think it took 8 seconds to go from 80mph-142mph! (Message edited by torquaholic on February 18, 2010) |

I didn't see the 1080 resolution option yesterday. Nice! The sensation of acceleration delivered by the first video is excellent. I caught myself leaning forward over the desk. LOL I recall the XBRR crew hitting the transition from banking to infield at the end of the front straight right at 85 to 90 MPH. Cicotto was the one hitting it the hardest, a real animal on the brakes. |

What software did you use for the editing. I have the gopro hd myself and am having problems getting good quality edited vids. Thanks. |

I used VideoPad Video Editor. It only took a few tries to figure out how it works. It works with mp4 files as well. Simple and free: the best kind. This is exactly where I got the program from: http://videopad-video-editor.en.softonic.com/ |

Torque, awesome vids especially the rear facing one ,that way you can see your concentration and facial expressions. All you'd see in mine is teeth!! That REALLY makes me want to get back to TWS, I never fully enjoyed it on my tubers because of the long straights. Now if magically some $$$ will come my way I'd like to go back there with the "25R". BTW ,Keith how's yours treating you?? |

It's funny I've done more riding in the last month and a half than in the last 4 months. We got a bunch of newbies here in the last 3 months so I've been takin' them out on a lot of my back roads to dip their wick and get them ready for the faster group by Spring. |
