The 2010 rear wheel has three bearings versus 2 like previous versions. That's why the P/N is different. The 2010 wheel (if you had a previous version) requires a different axle. As far as it being obsolete, Zac or Froggy can work that issue. | ||

What color do you want, and do you want a 03-09 or 2010 wheel? You can put a 2010 wheel on an older bike if you use the retrofit kit with the correct axle. | ||

Yes, the advantage is that in theory the bearings should last a hell of a lot longer, assuming they are not invincible. It was a 700% overkill solution to the failing wheel bearing problem that affected previous years. Just like the 1125R is a 700% overkill solution to the lack of power on the Blast  | ||

Try this: G1309.02A8YJ KIT, REAR WHEEL, SKY WHITE Retail Price:$336.00 Not sure if it has the painted edge or not. I think it comes with the 2010XB axle, but being you have a 2010 already, you can just reuse your stock axle. | ||

They *should* match. Amber was the only color I am aware of coming out different depending on the batch. | ||

Does anyone have a weight on that wheel? I think it would look great on a black bike, too bad as well it isn't real mag. I was thinking of going with red wheels on my CR someday. Has anyone posted up pictures of doing that other than photochop? | ||

I ordered the white ones today. I may eventually powdercoat the rims on my CR red since I have all the equipment to do it I didnt want to coat the rims on the 2010 because I'd like to be able to put it back to stock if I decide to one day. | ||

What you mean to tell me i bought american made only for it to be made in another country oh my god what am i to do now lol........ look just like you or I people have budgets and the richard craniums of hd had given erik a budget so of course he is going to out source things to find the least expensive parts and labor and if we complained about everything being made in china, japan, taiwan ect. we wouldn't own a single thing. Just food for thought. By the way those wheels look good | ||

You also need to remember that there is more involved that just cost. The wheels are made be Enkai, one of the best wheel manufactures in the world. Just because its from China, doesn't make it junk like the Buell tank bags | ||

Great until a Chinese worker skims raw material out of the mix, replacing it with who knows what and things go sideways. I know, because it has happened to the company I work for and also to a large bathroom fixture company that decided to start manufacturing in China because the design engineer for that company relayed the story to me. The Chinese are notorious for doing this without regard to proprietary information and patents. Just because it has a Buell stamp on it doesn't mean things will be OK. What about the melamine situation a couple years ago in our dog food and possibly in our people food. I believe there are hundreds of situations like this. The thought of eating fish or anything from China gives me an uneasy feeling because I've been to that country four times. The design engineer stated they subsequently took the path of using a company in Taiwan as a broker to protect and insure your manufacturing processes are adhered to. Taiwan has enforceable contracts with mainland China, we do not. | ||

I don't know much about Enkei, but if they had such quality control issues and other flaws, I doubt that Buell, Subaru, Mitsubishi and several other OEM's would be using them. Also, I have never heard anything bad about them. Please, if you can find even a single instance of an Enkei wheel failure due to being made defectively, let me know. They have an industry wide reputation for excellent, strong, and light weight rims. There is quite a difference between this and some random no-name bathtub faucet. | ||

Froggy, Whatever. I'm just throwing out what has happened and is a concern with those companies outsourcing manufacturing, I think they take the risk so they can get their parts made cheap. Same old story. When you said a random no-name faucet company I laughed. Its one of the largest in the world. Many of you guys sure get defensive when it comes to what might be construed as a negative comment towards Buell. I think if Buell would have listened to some of these comments (certainly not mine) he might still be in business today. | ||

I am not being defensive, I am just stating facts, mainly that country of origin does not automatically mean something is good or bad. And by "some of these comments", what do you mean? Since you clearly state not yours. |
