2003 xb9s squeaks i have determined it is in the clutch or pulley.when at speed and i hold or let off throttle, it squeaks.when i pull in the clutch squeak stops. what i know my primary drive lube is about halfway thru its life. i lubed the cable end and the cable housing itself and that made the whole thing work better.did that last summer. i welcome useful suggestions LOL thanks BadWebbers!! scott | ||

Pogue, let the bike run in neutral until the fan comes on. If it still squeaks in neutral the clutch needs an adjustment and possible replacement. I went through this a couple years ago and a new Barrett clutch fixed it. | ||

Yep, mine would squeak after the bike got hot. It would only stop if I pulled the clutch in. Drove me nuts until I figured it out. | ||

Yes, could be. Another thing to look at is how it shifts hot. If it's more difficult when hot it needs to be adjusted. | ||

Clutch adjustment: inside primary. Clutch lever free-play: clutch cable below steering head. | ||

thanks when hot hard to catch N otherwise shifts fine. maybe i need to check primary belt and do clutch adjustments. |
