Looks like Kawasaki green to me. Tell him it is not too late to change. Actually it looks like a green and black bike? Might look pretty good. Is that Derek's old bike? And regardless of it is or not have you heard from Derek in a while? |

yea frank, that's dereks bike. haven't talked to him for a couple of weeks. he went back to cleveland to see his family and take care of some legal issues. when he bought the bike he got a really good deal on it but just never got into the buell thing and said it was to hard to work on.(guess you really have to know derek) but for tim it's been a work in progress from the beginning. can't wait to see how it really turns out. so what's the rest of that gowindward |

That seat looks really cool. All the parts that are metal got powder coated. The triple trees, front motor mount, lower fork tubes, and handle bars are all gloss black. I would be a fool to try and paint that with a rattle can! All my plastics are getting new paint too. It will be awhile before I get those back though. Thats ok it is going to take awhile to put this all back together. I will keep posting update pics. If anyone knows where I can get my hands on a race header that would be great! |

You should gloss black the rotor carrier too. |

I thought about that but I would have to paint it. I didn't want to powder coat it because it might warp. I might have to fire up the paint gun and paint it. |

I did not think powder coating would warp any steel parts. Most steel should not even get malleable until 900 deg. F. |

Instead of "Project Kermit" I think the bike should be named "PROJECT HULK". PUNY HUMANS ON JAPANESE BIKES MAKE HULK MAD!!! (Message edited by dreadnaught1 on February 22, 2010) |

You'll love a race header, I have a kooks and its awesome! Brinnutz said it scrapes but my pegs do first (never scraped it) and its so deep soundin. My gf loves the X1 more than the 1125R. May have to keep this one, she said the R is too quiet (and the X1 vibrates a lot but I wasn't supposed to write that lol). But yeah dude it makes it feel like a different bike |
