Does anyone know what thread is on the rear signals? I ordered a pair to put on the front of my CR when I pull the mirrors for bar ends and apparently there are no nuts included. Thanks, ac |

Only thing the parts description shows is "M8". I'd take a signal to a Lowe's or Home Depot to their hardware section - usually they have the little "name that thread" display and you can sort it out. Or..order (2) of D0800.4FBL for the factory part |

D0800.4FBL Translates into Metric 8 mm nut, fine threads (since I'm a Standard boy living in a Metric world I have no idea what fine pitch Metric translates into for 8 mm...) and some form of black coating. I can't recall what the 4 represents, whether it is a jam nut (roughly half height) or full height or nylock or ???, but looking at your nuts (yes, I said it!) on your rear signals you should be easily able to tell if they are jam or regular height nuts, nylock or not, or if there is enough threads on the signal to put regular height nuts on. BTW, Lowe's selection BLOWS for Metric fasteners - Jam nuts - not likely, Stainless anything - yeah right! Buell hardware numbers are fun once you know the breakdown! They are jam nuts. I'm used to a full spelled-out "M8x24" or whatever, that shows the pitch (24) as well as the size (8). And yes, they are blacked out. |

8mm diameter x 1.0 mm pitch if fine 8mm x 1.25mm pitch for standard. the buell thread is 1.0mm pitch |

Thanks everyone. I actually installed my original rears on the front and used that hardware since I am waiting to work on a fender elim for the rear anyways. I have the high bars so I drilled into the $2 plastic cover pieces rather than the headlight housing. I am satisfied with the look. They aren't dead nuts straight ahead, but they look good. Next thing to tackle is moving over the right control housing to get my bar end mirrors on. For some reason Buell loves to overhand the bars by about 1/2" with the throttle tube! ac |
