Just got my 550 & looking at mounting options. I have the Buell tankbag, so the cross bar doesn't seem to be available. (limitations about 2 things occupying the same space)So have any of you found other options that don't obscure view of dash & still keep tank bag ? Pics appreciated. |

Doesn't someone (RAM, maybe) make a mirror stem mount system? Even the Buell mount was a RAM mount, I think it went on the bar next to the clutch perch. |

This was the mount that came with mine, butted up against the clutch perch.

I fabricated a bracket that fit between the windshield and flyscreen, using the stock two windscreen bolts, and an additional third mounting point in the center that bolted to the dash. It held my Zumo, and could fit 2 or 3 other items...
I no longer have my Uly, and do not need this. If anyone wants it, pm me with an offer. |

zumo on touratech mount From back I have it mounted so that I can just see under for time/odometer etc. With the locking mount, I never remove the zumo unless I'm staying at a hotel on a trip, or, need it in my car. It pretty much lives there. I've had this setup on 3 bikes now. If it cost $500 I'd still pay it for the convenience. |

Bartimus - pretty creative idea. Did it shake/vibrate much while traveling ? (Everything shakes at idle) Jim - your mount option was where I was originally going...but apparently Touratech has discontinued the bracket that attaches to the crossbar. I do have the TT locking cradle - just trying to find a place out of the way, but not out of sight. May have to attach to clutch side of handle bars. Though I like Bartimus idea - unsure if it would accept TT mount. j |

jphish, It did vibrate at first, that is why I added the third mounting point dead center under the Zumo, that bolted to the dashboard. It was rock solid after that. |

Touratech replaced it with part number 044-0770 which is essentially the same thing. It's on backorder at the the moment but should be available soon. http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/show.lasso?sku=0 44-0770&-session=touratech:AE3609020533e112CFnmm37 15F67} |

+1 on the Touratech mount. Have had it on two bikes and like the rubber anti vibration mounts and the lock. It is pricey but the peace of mind when you go in somewhere to eat the no one can easily steal your Zumo is priceless. It also is very flexible as to how you want to position your Zumo. I was able to mount it so that I can still see all of the instrument panel. |

Hi Court yeah, that is the new remote warm n safe dual controller. It rocks. The main bits get stowed in the jacket liner, then, you just have one plug exiting like normal to plug into power for the bike. There is no wire to the controller on the bars. You set it once so the two bits speak to each other. You never have to do that again. I've purposely never turned the remote off, just to see how long the battery will last. 3 months so far. The only time it draws power is if you turn the dial and the led lights up. Pretty slick setup. Another great thing is that when you plug the liner in, it automatically heats to 1/3 power, in case remote malfunctions. The remote has a little lanyard attached that I have wrapped around mirror stalk, but, the remote is dual-locked to the reservoir and won't go anywhere. My heated gear is all warm n safe, but, it'll work with Gerbings or anyone with a coax Here's the link http://www.warmnsafe.com/index.php?main_page=produ ct_info&cPath=101&products_id=257&zenid=58a761d56a 01b48086a8b7318e839568 |

There is a wireless interface between the controller and the gear? . . . all you do ins provide the 12VDC to the gear? |

>>>>>There is a wireless interface between the controller and the gear? . . . all you do ins provide the 12VDC to the gear? Yep. The small box on top is the "brains". You plug jacket and gloves into that. The third wire is power. You plug that into your battery, or, whereever your power comes from. The box on bottom with the knobs is what you see in my picture. No wires! Program the two to speak to each other the first time you use it. (You won't have to do that again.) Mount the wireless remote anywhere handy, and, control your gear the same way you were doing before, there just isn't any wires to it! The battery is easily found at any cvs/walmart etc.

Court, I got the idea from you when you talked about ZumoForums. they have a thread about Splash screens. here is a link to many bike and car brands http://www.dotski.com/zumo/ Court, with as many pictures as you take, you can add the best to your Zumo to share while benchracing. just resize the photos to 320x240 to save space in the Zumo. Froggy,I think I'm going to start a splash screen thread any issues? |
