I just want to thank BlackFlash for his handy work and helping me out with some new Axle Sliders and Brake/Shifter Pegs. I was really impressed when I received these. They were solid and had a real nice machine finish. They feel and look like they can take a real beating. I also found shifting and braking much easier with the lengthened pegs as well. A darker photo really shows the aluminum shine.

Looks good. You need to build a garage for that bike. |

I guess I should have been more clear... Which exhaust tip is that? Custom made or was it purchased? |

I picked up these sliders this week too. Just wanted to add my impressions to this as well. I'm out of town at the moment, so I can't add pictures just yet. Overall impressions are quite good. Install was a breeze. The hardware is all hidden, a dowel is used to tighten up the set. I loved the dowel idea, and it fits just fine in the factory tool pouch. I noticed a little "clocking" was needed to get the dowel hole where the dowel could access it without contacting the frame. The final product is clean and smooth. It seems like the sliders extend out far enough to cover the D_Adams spools. One issue there, they sort of get in the way when using a spool stand. Shouldn't be a problem with an '09 spool location. I only got a couple of pictures last night as the sun was going down. Either way, these things are damn beefy! I hope I don't get to use them for their intended purpose, but judging by their appearance, I'm sure they'll do the trick. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a set of sliders. |

Torquaholic- I don't have spools and my pit Bull stand does not have the spool adapter so it works out great for me on the 08'. I was also surprised to see that a dowel pin had been provided to locking the slider instead of having to use the end of a allen or Phillips. |

Drawkward- The tip is an off the shelf 3" slant tip. I put one end in a vice and squeezed it down to get the shape I needed to fit over the oval shaped hole I cut out after hacking the two 1" tips off. (Message edited by xbswede on February 14, 2010) |

Looks good Aron all you need is the upper Fuel/frame sliders to protect the tank .

Nillaice- I the Shinkos work fine for what i used them for. I bought them as commuter tires through the rainy season and have had no issues at all. I am little disappointed in the tire life of the rear tire. I am at 3000 and probably have another 500 -1000 before the center of my tire is completely flat. i was expecting 5-6K since almost every review was giving it 8K. My next test tire will be the Conti Motions for homecoming. not sure if they will hold up for 5K RT. Will see. LOL After that I will probably go back to Pilot Powers, so far my favorite all around for summer riding. |

They will be released Wednesday. There is a few tests that need performed as well tommorrow. They will look just like conventional sliders on I4 bikes. As far as me posting pictures that would be violating the rules here. Im not stepping on anyones toes until a complete product line is produced.

i too am a little disapointed in the rear tread life too, but only cuz of the quoted high mileage. but i can't say how my riding factors into that... next up for me will be michelin's, prolly the CT2 \threadjack {over} lets see these new sliders. i thought the pods did that deed, but i'm open to other options. |

The pods do serve as sliders and do quite well but it would be really nice to have something that would save the hassle of replacing/repairing the pods. They are a pain to sand down, prime and paint. (speaking from experience ) |

There have been several instances of 1125's rolling up over the pods and scratching the frame above them, they don't offer complete protection. I myself will be looking into adapting Ulysses frame pucks in the near future. Apparently, it's been done. |

I had a low side slideout last fall and scratched my frame. I went flying through a cow fence. Luckily the bike didn't go through the fence. It lowsided and spunout In a yard. Their was scratches on the frame and plastics. Luckily it was grass. If it was pavement It would of been ugly. A bottle of nuvos and some fine wetsanding sandpaper Did the trick. I had a little paint left over from me painting the frame so I touched her scratches up.The fairing bracket snapped immediately in the wreck. My opinion after my wreck is that a tank saver is needed. I'm gearing my bike up for the track this summer any pointers are appreciated. |

The Uly pucks fit's right on, with no modification neither to bike or puck |

Crswede good info I might pick up a set of those as well.Pucks will only protect the fuel frame. That sounds great in all but what about your headers, case ,pod brackets, pods, and all the other stuff. When nothing is there the load will be tremendous to the handlebars ,fairing bracket amongst others.Mine broke immediately just sliding in grass. |

I looked into the Uly pucks and I can swear that I would have had to cut the puck to make it fit around the pod. I could be mistaken it was the day i picked my bike up, me and the parts guy at the dealer were looking at a cr and a Uly side by side and we both couldnt see a way that the pucks would fit in w/o modifying them quite a bit |

Bernt,..do you have a wider angle shot ? I'd really like to see how the whole bike looks with the pucks on. (Message edited by Mac_Inger on February 15, 2010) |

Thanks for the pics Crswede. That is exactly where the frame takes the ding when they get damaged. I'm liking the idea more now than before. |

Crswede, did you have to remove the pods when you put those sliders on or did you just slip them in behind the pod? I know some racers use the Uly pucks on the 1125 but I didn't think they would fit with the stock pods. Glad to see they'll work with the stock pods. |
