OK GUYS PHASE ONE COMPLETE!!!!!!!! Can a Mod add to the title UPDATED, or should i make a new thread.... YOU GUYS ARE NOT GOING TO LIKE THE RESULTS. I'll post dyno graphs this evening, its now time to toss on the HMF pipe and go back, SO YES i will complete all testing today!. For those who want just a Race ecm with stock EXHAUST, EBR wasn't bullshitting us... the computer does not like it, LEan wasn't even the word.. but i pushed my bike through it anyways. More news to come.. this will be enough for now to keep ya'll guessing. OH lastly i hate to bring this up, but guys i would like to get 40.00 to coveer the dyno session. i did 9 pulls this morning and paid for a 1 hour block of dyno time. thats 120.00. i would appreciate it.....a bunch... You guys help me out and i promise i will give you the info you requested... I have 10 different combinations to run between pipe, K&N, ecm, and OPEN airbox... Oh DO NOT RUN OPEN AIRBOX, unless you like rebuilding BURNT engines... 16/1 WOT a/f ratio, thats engine popping lean...(with K&N installed) off to work i go, stay tuned. One observation, the Race ecm runs the bke MUCH COOLER.. we had a hard time breaking 190* on back to back dyno runs.. thats a definite + |

While I'm not in any great need of the results, I think it is very cool that you are doing this Kevin so I sent over a few bucks to help. |

Glad I put my airbox cover back on after just a short run. It was too damn loud in my face. Thanks a bunch for the warnings man. |

FRESNO...you guessed the way i would have guessed but no it was lean... WAY LEAN.... the a/f sensor was in the front pipe and working fine... it does get rich in the top above 8500-9k, but who the hell rides there bike in 1st gear al the time lol. Well guys the results and everything will be tomorrow. i can't get back on the dyno today so first thing in the morning i'll be there. ON a different note.. DAMN that HMF pipe is loud.. i'm not old (32) but holy crap that was alot more than i was expecting for sure... |

Here is a reply that I rec'd earlier about the slip on ECM running with the stock pipe: Harlan, Our pump gas calibration uses o2 sensors so it possible it will adapt to the stock muffler, but we haven’t tried it ourselves. The WOT fueling is a question that I am not in position to speculate on. It will be richer than stock, but too much is not a question we can answer. We’ve not run the calibration with a stock muffler. |

The ECM will not adjust the A/F immediately, it takes a few minutes of steady cruising at highway speeds. |

Somewhere along the line I'll try the EBR ecm I think. I've got the $$ to get it right now, but I have so many other things going I won't have time to play with it anyway. Maybe in March or April when things start to settle down a little. This thread is making me really really want one though. On a side note about the HMF exhaust, how would you describe the sound? Obviously it's loud, but is deep, raspy, sharp or ? |

Not to jack the thread but the HMF is like a gun going off when you start the bike and seems far louder at idle than when putting down the road. Even light revving in Neutral seems quieter than idle. It's not as low a tone as I would like but it's not IL4 sounding below 4K. After that it has the typical ricer Zooooooook on up the RPMs. Just my impressions. I can only imagine the trauma of being trapped in a Dyno cell with it though. Bring ear plugs. |

ON the ecm "learning" he cruised for about 5-10 min on the dyno at 80mph with the fans going, BUT the fixed WOT maps are just that.. i don;t understand why so many people think the system can learn..it doesn't unless its in Closed loop (using o2 sensors) and that is only for idel and cruising. WOT maps are just that..maps preprogrammed. OK i just got back from my ride... Nice, a little trq is missing in the mid range but the top end seems to rip, PLUS did anyone notice the rpm limiter is now at 11k I did, well maybe cause i got good weather lol but i first noticed it on the dyno. pipe is loud but its growing on me, you defintely aren't sneaking up on anyone.. throttle response is superb and crisp, the way it should have been from the factory... Now i have a 9:30am appointment (PST) for dyno runs. so by 1-2 pm i should have all info posted .. i hope my scanner works. I'll have 10-12 dyno sheets for you guys to oogle over LOL oh and thanks to those that have donated once again... this is good info to have on record. oh and i had a bunch of codes, but my local HD dealer buddy help me clear them... |

To quote Ted Knight from one of the best movies ever..."Well...were waiting!" on those dyno plots. You mentioned that we won't like 'em. You have our attention! |

Just to clarify the race ECM rev limiter, soft rev limiter begins at 11,000 hard at 11,100 and no spark at 11,150 |

the HMF pipe is deep sounding, No raspiness... i like it, just the overall volume needs to be cut down a notch. i guess i'll get used to it. I'm curious how this next dyno session will go. (Message edited by justa4banger on February 11, 2010) |

Justa4banger, would you mind also posting up that cross-reference sheet again? That would help translate "run001" into something more meaningful. |

And the most torque. All the A/F graphs seem to be shifted to the lean side. I'm confused...you're saying stock makes the most power? (Message edited by Xelerator on February 11, 2010) |
