Per the book The Harley-Davidson Motor Company an Official eighty year history by David K Wright. 31,163 in 1948 this includes the war years. The next time wasn't till 1966 when 36,310 were built. These two years seem to be anomalies no other year was close till after AMF bought them

So, if you count your one anomalous year it was 63 years. But really it should be only consistent numbers so about 70 years?

Kind of easy to see who's waxing and who's waning.

If HD had been smart they should have just put the elves in charge of the screaming eagle division. Kept it a true racing/performance branch. May have had a notable racing history in the 90's that way. Ah well.

Wonder if their egos can handle a future EB & elves company being their production equals?

Check this:
"Keith Wandell, received a pay package valued at $6.4 million in 2009, according to a regulatory filing. The majority of it comes in the form of stock and option awards, which tally up to $4.9 million. His base salary, starting from May 1 and ending Dec. 31, was $650,025, to go along with a bonus of $780,030. Other compensations for the Harley CEO totaled $22,515. Not a bad chunk of change for only eight months of work."

and this:
Harley-Davidson donates $1.4 million in materials to MIAD

http://milwaukee.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/stories /2010/03/15/daily38.html
and the best part is:
"The point-of-purchase materials donated to MIAD were designed by DCI Marketing in Glendale for Buell Motorcycle Co., a Harley-Davidson subsidiary, said MIAD spokeswoman Vivian Rothschild. Harley-Davidson discontinued Buell last year."

HD HAS NO BRAIN !!
