After my lowside I found the coolant level slightly low. (about 1/2 inch below the cold level mark) A cold oil level check showed nothing on the stick, it took somewhere between 75-100 ML to bring it back up to normal level. (just touching the bottom of the stick when cold) Both fluids must have leaked when she was laying on her right side, be sure to check this if you go down. |

Was the coolant level good before the low side? They left the factory with the bare minimum coolant needed, and is below the line. |

Yeah Froggy, I checked both levels before the ride. However you raise a very good question. The second day I owned Mighty Whitey the coolant level was LOW! (just barely showing any coolant in the expansion tank) I had to add coolant twice in the next two days to get to the cold (full) mark. After that it stayed at the proper level until the crash. |

I'm confused why you wear a dirt bike helmet for every occasion? Are you wearing it now? |

Must be because of the low coolant! |

We got the car free as it had been a roll over.... those were the cold air intakes on the hood... little wings! Ended up taking the hood off. cooked the oil. it was like fire crackers going off after we would shut off the engine lol no I am not but I like to wear it when I sleep! Na I just don't like the closed-ness of a full face and from what i can tell they meat the same DOT and SNELL requirements right? or no? (Message edited by Captain_america on February 09, 2010) |

Bleeding the coolant after a tip over or valve service is also important. Air can get trapped up in there and cause false engine temp readings. |
