We ride a few feet from each other on the track, so that's just my perception.

I think the point I can best make is the pipe is remarkably loud. Kinda hard to describe loud.

On that, I'm sure we both agree.

i think if you are in an inner city neighborhood getting the cops called on you for a loud pipe is the LEAST of your worries.

For real.. My neighbor is to cheap to buy a pipe for his 08 GSXR 1000. So he runs straight pipes and it is stupid ear pearcing loud. My 1125CR with straight pipes(idling) is no where near as loud as his at WFO.. Idle for idle mine is louder though even with th RT-5 five on.

Maybe some part of this guys exhaust remains? but I don't think so. It terminates in the perf-metal tube that would normally have the exhaust can around it.

It's loud, for sure, but not louder (by my perception) than the FMF on my Buell.

Yes. I certainly agree it's borderline on the street at the very best.

And as a reminder to those running aftermarket pipes, please be courteous to you fellow citizens. Keep the revs low around people and park away it possible. We are a distinct minority and many would just as soon see us gone. No reason to stir up the bees nest any more than necessary.

Well I finally decided to brave the cold and install the FMF apex on my 25r. I am running the quiet core...seems to sound better. All I can say is WOW. Loud...Yes, not street worthy...Possibly, but man o man is it a sweet sound. No more sewing machine sound...just pure American motorcycle dialect with a hint of Austrian accent. It sounds much more like the typical V Twin pure that I was hoping for.

This slip on is no more obnoxious than your Grannies Harley with chrome leg burners. Except this ain't your grannies Harley.

And I agree with Fresno, this pipe should be handled with kid gloves around town and the little old lady crossing the street. No need to be a dink, just ride it right.

just as your idea of loud and mine are different

"Inner-city" just means "inside the city", and implies population density more than anything.

There's nice and very expensive neighborhoods as well as run down areas. Not all "inner-city" is bad. At least in Dallas, a lot of the inner core is actually really nice.

BTW I can not really tell the difference between quiet core installed pointed at engine or pointed at exhaust exit versus removed. Im surprised no one else has tried theirs in different positions

oh well

When I read the install instructions for the FMF, it said something to the extent of "the quiet core will reduce sound levels with a negligible impact on performance", so I put it in the quiet setting.

The bike was way loud, so I figured why try the other one?

I love the weight savings for sure, and that's the real reason I put the slippy on there in the first place.

It *does* sound good. Very good. It's just friggin' loud.

Hello Guys I'm new to the forum. I have a Buell 1125R Love it hate that it has NO V twin sound. Given that. I just put the jardine RT5 on my Buell 1125R in hope to wake the V-Twin sound up from the Stock pipe with basicly ZERO sound. It woke it up for sure.....But I'm thinking in Los Angeles West Side area and Malibu rides it's to loud Even Louder than my Cyclone M2 with a Supertrapp. Idling next to a cop I think I'm for sure to get a ticket for being to loud. Has anyone had any issue with cops on there Buell 1125R with the jardine. I wonder if it can be packed more to muffle the sound I have not taken it apart. Seriously Love the sound but to have to look over my back every time I ride it and in the canyons up at the Rock store you know the Cops sit at the top they will hear it coming for miles away when hit the Twisty's hard......So I'm thinking about putting the stock pipe back on or just riding it till I get the fix it ticket....and I will get it....it's
LOUD!!!!!!

PS: If any Buell rides meet up in the West Los Angeles area please contact me. LAFORZAMZ@aol.com

Best Regards,

Mark Z

I would have to say that I have never heard the sound of the jardine can, but I can say that my exhaust the D&D is LOUD. I have made a new baffle for it and have yet to install it. I can confirm the looking over the shoulder on every turn.

I'm running the cone pointed toward the rear on the FMF. I tried it facing the header and thought that the low end was some what better, but top end was flat. It was a little more muffled but not much. Without the core is pretty loud.
Now that I've got the EBR race ECM in the sound is fatter and at cruising speed seems more quite.

Performance is outstanding. I think I said in another thread the map is very precise. Much easier to transition from zero throttle to mid throttle in slow corners, but pulls really hard from mid on. I liked the last 06 flash but this is a new ball game. Best, easiest performance mod I've done.
I have the 02's hooked up and seems fine.
Hope this helps

This may or may not be important, but I have one of the first ECM's that is not a pump gas unit. It should be very close to the DSP tune, so the ones set up for PG or the stock muffler may be different.
I think this will be interesting as people start dyno'ing the other ECM's

So you have to run race gas? Is this your street bike?

This bike is used mostly for track but I do run around on the street a little. Race gas for now.
