Hello, I have a friend who is looking for a used, in near new condition, low mileage 1125R. Any year, any color. Will spend $5000 for a nice one. I know this seems low, but I bought mine new for $4999 plus taxes. I know many others bought cheap too! Let me know. You can e-mail me @ zracer196@embarqmail.com Thanks in advance! Mark |

Consider yourself lucky, but don't bank on finding a used one for the ridiculous price you paid for a new one. I'd suggest your friend look for a more readily available used bike from Japan. (Message edited by moosestang on February 05, 2010) |

Nowadays the only bikes selling for that cheap that I've seen are salvage bikes... |

There is only one 1125r on ebay and it's been wrecked. They also happen to want $5,000 for it. The odds of finding a used one in Florida are slim. I had a hard time finding a used xb near me. |

If he wants a slightly used 1125 R I'd shoot for 6G. Someone that bought it for around that and decided he doesn't need it or can't afford it. 5 is not very realistic if he's seriously interested in one. Unless you sell him yours lol. |

How does someone justify asking more for a used bike than what the dealers have been blowing out new ones for? Even going forward in the market, I'd have a real hard time getting interested in a $10K bike when I had seen the same thing sell for $6 or $7K brand new. |

He has a GSXR...Selling it to try one of these. There are a couple still for sale (not selling) on this board for $6K or so. A red one was advertised for $5499 (maybe sold for less) that was mint / almost new. If someone wants to SELL, I think 5K is possible. If someone is patient, I am sure they could get more. Just need to wait for the guy wanting to sell quickly. Thanks for the comments. (Message edited by zracer196 on February 05, 2010) (Message edited by zracer196 on February 05, 2010) |

Most of the guys on this board already have one. Or if they are looking they don't want to travel across the country to pick up a bike. |

He should probably consider looking at dealers in Georgia or craigslist Atlanta and be patient. He may find someone desperate, but getting closer to Spring, and with the availability dropping, the prices will most likely only go up. $5k sounds a bit unrealistic. |

Yeah...Just missed the one for the asking price of $5500... Again, no serious rush. Just putting out a feeler. Trust me, I wish mine was worth more...I'd like to make a few bucks!! |

Even going forward in the market, I'd have a real hard time getting interested in a $10K bike when I had seen the same thing sell for $6 or $7K brand new. What's to justify? I can ask whatever I want for it. I don't understand your logic. Who is trying to get $10k for a used bike? Even if they were still selling new for $11,999, you'd be lucky to get someone to pay even close to $10,000 for a used one. There will be no more new bikes in the future, so there is no reason to even mention what a new one sold for. It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. |

There's no more left is the key word!! F what HD off'ed em for its in our hands! So stop rapeing urself and others and bring the price back up so everyone isn't upside down. I wouldn't sell mine for anythinh under 8000 and that's on the very low side |

Until they get rid of the inventory. Then it will turn around and be good for the sellers. Supply-side economics. Works every time. |

perfect point Rockstarblast1 take a look at basicly any old hot rod, because they are not terribly many around the cars are worth alot more now than they were brand new even factoring in inflation with the 1125's we are talking less than 10000 made world wide I would consider this bike rare even brand new just cause there are a large group of owners here dont mean crap. Charge what evet the hell u want for used ones (Message edited by lastonetherebuys on February 13, 2010) |
