Here is a pic under each radiator pod covers for the curious. Right side has the ver flow jug and the left covers the ECM left side first
now for the right side

Sure hope a leak doesn't ever occur. The ethylene glycol could eat the wiring harness insulation over time. Why did the engineers choose to put the ecm there? |

if you have a leak of coolant, the coolant eating your wires will come way after the engine over heats and blows up... i imagine the put the ECM where it would stay cool and where it would fit...but thats just a WAG |

It does seem like a bad spot for the ecm, especially in a wreck. There's plenty of room under the seat. |

I put her down on the ecm side (pretty good actually, just ask Budc) and it didn't even scratch it! |

I too put mine down on the ECM side. Nothing behind the pod cover was touched. Those things work great. |

Note that chafe mark on the hard line in the first picture of the left side. Mine has the same thing. I put a dab of RTV on my hard line to keep the pod cover from chafing it further. |

Dipstick that is a very good observation and clever response putting a sacrificial bit of goo there. can anybody point out the bank angle sensor as well? dannybuell (Message edited by dannybuell on February 03, 2010) |
