I think mine might be broken at the little peg on top. |

You cannot buy the bolt. I'd buy the update kit. Its a new sidestand and a slightly different pin. 65 bucks |

If it's broken, I'm going to make one out of stainless. Making billet shifter, and rear brake pedal today! WOOHOO! |

If u have to drill out the broken bolt be really careful not to go to deep. It bolts into the engine block! |

Check out the Knowledge Vault. There were several different kickstand bolt designs. The original one had a step or something, real bad design. Then they redesigned it, but only sold it with the updated kickstand. Worth the 65 bucks, but the original stand can be modified to take a simple bolt. I forget the exact details. I bought a used 2005 kickstand on eBay, and replaced my 2004 after I used up all the 2004 bolts I could find. I'm too cheap to pay 65 bucks for a bolt. confused? Sorry about that! |

It looks like the little catch for the spring on the top of the bolt is broke in half. I'll send up a pic tomorrow cuz the bike is at the shop. If it is broke, Im going to make a new one. |

the week I bought my 04 XB12s the kickstand bolt broke. thankfully I was able to find the spring. I went to the local hardware store and bought $2. worth of stainless steel hardware (I already had the loctite) built this...it took alittle work getting things to fit, but still going strong miles later...I had to cut down the spacer some, and open the outside hole on the kickstand up just a bit.

for the record I would have bought the side stand upgrade kit, but the bolt broke on a saturday morning right before a planned ride and the closest Buell dealer is 80 miles away. Of course my ride was going in the opposite direction. I would have gladly changed my ride and went to the dealer, but the genius I spoke with on the phone wouldn't tell me if he had the upgrade in stock, he kept saying.... " just bring it by and we will look at it,I am sure we can hook something up" I have had bad luck with this dealership and their ability to "hook something up" I wasn't about to ride 80 miles to see what they could do, so I rode 1 mile (roundtrip) to the local ACE, picked up the bolt and spacer. |

My Buell "resting" against my Roadstar, while I was doing my fix, because I loaned my front and rear stands to a friend.

I dont think mine is broke. The thing I'm looking at s the little "tit" to catch the "s" shaped piece of sheet metal attached to the spring. Mine only catches the metal piece by about half the thickness. The top of it looks like it has "beech marks" on it. I may carry one of those bolts with me just in case. Thanks. |

"... I would have bought the side stand upgrade kit, but ..." Why prefer upgrade kit to "Ace upgrade" so nicely depicted above? Plan to visit local Ace and pro-actively upgrade my '04. Thanks! |

Well my 04 bolt broke and i headed to lowes and got the bolt with spacer.I ended up getting a couple different lengths of bolts. I was going to let everybody know that if you go with a 2" bolt you won't have to cut the spacer down any and you'll have a little extra thread on the backside in case it ever breaks again. Cheers! |
