Thanks for that Froggy, whats the loose cable with it with the number '1' on it for, is that the aux circuit? | ||

I believe (and am happy to be corrected) that the aux cct terminates in the top fairing (certainly on the R).. As mine was in being flashed last week and i now have a cable with a weatherproof plug hanging down from the left pod that this is probably a diagnostic port... But again i'm happy to be corrected.. I just need to tuck mine back in out of the way.. | ||

where is the bank angle sensor? anybody have a pic, so i can disconnect when i put my race ecm on. thanks | ||

It's "on top" and forward of the ECU in the left pod. Runs perpendicular to the bike, has 3 leads. | ||

Yes, the connector with the rubber plug on it is the diagnostic connector. Aux circuit, even on a CR, is behind the flyscreen / under the gauges. | ||

Sporron If the loose cable you asked about is a two pin deutsch connecter near the ECU it is probably part of the datalink circuit and there is a resister in the connecter. | ||

If you can't find it, maybe you shouldn't touch it. Seriously, why do you need to find the ECU? | ||

Duggram, considering that people have been talking about the new EBR ECM, there's a decent possibility he's purchased one of those or is thinking about buying one. Before this thread, I didn't know where the ECM was either, and I am a pretty-experienced shade-tree bike mechanic, having done all of my own work for many years, not the least of which was R&Ring the transmission on my GSX-R600 track bike. Twice. (The used transmission I bought had worn shift forks.) So just because someone doesn't know where some specific part on a bike is located doesn't have any bearing on whether or not they can or should "touch it". | ||

I highly recommend the Service Manual to anyone that is looking to work on their own bike. Very worthwhile investment. As is the parts book for the exploded views. | ||

You guys are right. My apologies Sporran. Do get at least a manual. BTW when you reattach the ECM be careful with the screw. Mine broke off amazingly easy. | ||

Thanks guys, I'm about to order a pre programed ECU from EBR so I just wanted to know where it hides and where the BAS is as well as apparently that must be disconnected. | ||

Both the ECM and the BAS are under the left pod. Looking at it, the BAS is top left, ECM is upper middle, CAN bus connector is 2-pin with the same terminator as used to eliminate the noid. The ECM plug hangs in back of the left pod and tucks in just forward of the rear point. Note: the pod cover does NOT need to be removed to get at the ECM(Data Link) connector. Zack | ||
