Can't use a trickle charger. It's suggested to disconnect the battery between track events. But that's going to be a hassle because of having to remove the tail each time. I like the connector that comes with the battery but not sure how it could be used. Does anyone have a good quick disconnect for the battery? |

The Speedcell battery requires no maintenance charge; furthermore, SpeedCell does not recommend using chargers of 2 amps or less because trickle charging at low voltage will actually increase the internal resistance of the battery by altering its internal chemistry. The battery will typically lose no more than 10% voltage per year left unattended. If the battery does discharge, per the included instruction sheet, use a 5-25 amp charger on normal lead acid charge mode. 5 amp @14v or less for 30min 25 amp @14v or less for 15min |

I didn't get an instruction sheet with mine. But I did send an email to Jason today asking what he suggests for maintenance. For sure no trickle chargers. He said that disconnecting the battery is best. That's why I'm asking about methods of getting this done without taking the tail apart. |

How about making a short pigtail. You could run the wires to a location where it would be easier to disconnect. What about mounting the battery in a better location? |

Yes, elsewhere I got the suggestion for an SAE plug for an RV roof. Looks waterproof. Thank you. Learned something new here. |

Buy a quick disconnect jumper cable plug, like on a tow truck. Its probably the same thing as the rv one. |
