You do know that the CR swingarm is different that the R swingarm, and the units need to be different in size? REX The R pucks do not fit the CR swing arm.... |

Looks like Delrin? Are you planning on using that for a stand? If so, I will warn you that plastic creeps (it is a technical term) and will fail over time without warning. Rex, What do you mean the swingarms are different? I realize they are slightly different in length from pivot to axle, but I was unaware of any other dimensional differences that would relate to THIS project. ac |

they are made from a pretty hard plastic and i plan on threading the rod almost all the way through for strength |

If I'm seeing this correctly, they will sit into the axle recess. If so, the swingarm differences won't affect anything. The swingarm lengths varied, not the axle. The plastic will creep over time in compression, but certain polymers are more stable than others. If it creeps to the point that you lose your clamp force, the plastic won't fail...but the threaded rod will. YMMV. |

The OEM bobbins are plastic on the 1125's as well. Did anyone tell the Buell engineers that they will creep (thats a technical term)? On a positive note...they look good XB12S. Its good to see people making there own sliders, I cant see spending $60+ on something that is designed to be destroyed. |

No one had to tell Buell engineers. They were smart enough to figure it out all by themselves. The plastic bobbins have aluminum inserts that take the compression load from the fasteners. ac |

the area that the sliders fit in is different. They are smaller on the CR vrs. the R. I bought axle sliders for the rear. they would not fit into the slot on the Cr. The slot is smaller.....REX |

Rex, What axle sliders did you buy? I thought the axle part numbers were the same between the R and CR. ac |

Yes the axle area is slightly different, I also had an issue with an axle slider fitting an R with no problem, and the CR it was stubborn and needed some extra umph to install. The difference is minimal, I honestly thought I had just a little extra powder coat on my CR swingarm. |

Hmm, was the manufacturer of the swingarm slider aware? ac |

McMaster-Carr Has delrin of all sorts. You could make them clear if you wanted and put some fancy LED inside. Not saying i would but just throwing ideas out there... haha |

Avc8130, I was the first one to report this issue, I at first chalked it up to a Friday swingarm, then another person reported it too. I recall he was going to revise the slider slightly to prevent it. |

Froggy, Does he use straight plastic for his spool sliders, or do they have aluminum inserts? ac |

captain, for right now im just making black ones. alot of these places have a minimum order so it makes it hard to get a bunch of colors. |

ok, so here they are. boy is that a pain in the butt. it took me about an hour each to do the fronts, and about 2-3 hours each to do the backs. and then another hour making them match. LOL
the cat wanted to help
this is how far the rod goes in. haha
i will have more pics of them installed on the bike soon. i hope you like cause it took me long enough. |

i may be able to get 2 sets per week done. its very time consuming cause i can only take off so much material at a time. i also need an exact measurement of the width of the 1125 cr/r rear axle as i only have my xb at home. i know the front is the same. |
