Are these known for wearing out? |

My original is still good, but what happens is the the original rotor only has 6 buttons holding it in place. over time, they start to oblong out the mounting hole so that they click or rattle. The improved rotor has 8 buttons like most rotors and eliminates the problem. I like the looks of the original better, but it is going to happen so $100 now is way better than $300+ later! edit - I stand corrected - 9 buttons (Message edited by scott_in_nh on January 27, 2010) |

I'm looking for the brake rotors that are held together with e-clip buttons if you guys have any you want to get rid of. I don't care if they rattle or not. PM me. |

No, just getting expensive. MSRP used to be $95, now it's $300. |

The updated 9 spool rotor is "supposedly." less subjective to warping. |

Okay, my S3T has the 9 spool rotor on it, so I guess I'm not missing out on anything except spending $100 bucks. |

Lorin,no you're not missing out on anything unless you want an oem rotor cheap. When I bought Nick's S3 a year an half ago the front rotor was warped .080 TIR and my local dealer wanted $349 so I bought a EBC for $200. I'd rather have the oem rotor because the carrier matches the PM wheels. |

And if I'm reading it right, someone has now turned around and offered one up at $199. I'd have liked one at the original price just for shows. I've got an original one but it pulsates too much to use for a lengthy ride. And an EBC otherwise. But that version would be a good compromise. I'll just have to pay (even) more attention to eBay. |

There was one fella in Indiana who had it listed for that before this deal went live. Don't remember who it is, but he used to belong here didn't and his bike didn't sell so he parted it... |

+1 on thanks for the tip. Picked up one for $99.00 brand new. I had bid up to $170.00 for used ones and was overbid. Thanks again |
