Planning on going. I hope to make it a Bike Week/Key West/who knows what else trip. Haven't worked out all the details yet and don't know that I will. I usually just wing it. I do have a place to stay in Palm Coast and Tampa, but I'm sure my tent will be used plenty. Especially in Key West. Daytona will probably be the tail end of my trip. I'll be there all weekend and will have the RV setup in the rider/owner lot. I'll probably ride the Team Hammer practice day on Friday, since it will be my first race weekend on the Buell, and racing 4 or 5 sprint races throughout the weekend. If someone ask's me to ride TC, I'd probably do that to. We are always in Garage 49B, come by and see us. |

Anyone doing the AHRMA races on Monday and Tuesday? I'll be there with my 1125R and my Manx Norton. We have a 180hp 1600cc 4 valve Vincent engined race bike from Australia that will be there in Battle of the Twins F1, and Sound of Thunder. He won races there in '08 when it was a 2 valver with "only" 160hp! |

I will be going, my brother is coming in from Colorado so we will make the trek over, but usually the only race I see over there anymore was the flat track races in volusia county and the supercross race. This year I doubt if I will even see the supercross or flat track races, but who knows how things shake out. |

If you like Vincents feast your eyes on this. It is my cousin's recently completed Trackmaster framed street tracker. He had owned the last Black Lightning built in the 50's and was also a flat track racer so this combines his motorcycle interests of the past.

I am going to race AHRMA with my new 1125R. We have CMRA at Texas World Speedway on Feb. 20-21, AHRMA at Savannah on Feb. 25-26, then Daytona March 1-2. Working hard to get the bike prepped. Took an amazing amount of "stuff" off of it last weekend. Cannot wait to hear it with the pipe and ECU installed! |

I saw a Buell 1125 at a AHRMA race last year, it won BOTT F-1 at Barbers, there wasn't alot of competition for it, at Daytona there should be a bunch of cool bikes in all three BOTT divisions. I'm a AHRMA member so I'll be at Daytona checking all the equipment out...... (Message edited by 186bigtwin on January 26, 2010) |

Thats got to be the coolest Vincent I've ever seen, thanks for sharing it with us. Here is a link to a story my cousin wrote about drag racing his Black Lightning back in the day. Anyone who has done any kind of racing will identify with this well written story. http://lsvoc.vincent-hrd.co.uk/dodge_city.html

Just received an email this morning from Ken Horner (owner of the Australian Vincent race bike) and unfortunately they will not be coming to Daytona this year. The new 4 valve per cylinder machine is not quite ready, so understandably they don't want to come this far to have problems. He said they just had a crap weekend at Phillip Island with the 2 valve bike, so I'm sure that didn't help their Daytona decision. I was looking forward to chasing that big monster round Daytona! |

Rio, Cheers for the photo, not sure why mine won't work. We were pitted right next to them in '08, you're stood about 2 feet from my Manx Norton taking this photo! The Aussies were a great bunch to be pitted next too. My friend John Cronshaw got to ride the this Vincent on parade laps at Phillip Island last year, he said it pulls like a freight train... shame we won't get to hear it this year. |

No access to Facebook at work . . . but that is TOTALLY COOL that Paul James and The James Gang will be at Daytona running the 200. Paul and the entire JAMES GANG TEAM have, since the day they started, been about the classiest and steadiest in the world of racing. Not only are they always fun to watch they are the types of folks that when you meet them you just want to cheer on. Paul is one of the talents that, over the years, I'd always wished that Harley-Davidson would have "unbridled" and turned loose on Buell Marketing. I've a sneaking suspicion that had Paul been calling the shots things would have been different. Can't wait to see them at Daytona. That Vincent is not a motorcycle . . that thing is PURE ART ! |

186bigtwin, I'll email the owner and ask him. He should be able to tell from the gearing he ran at Daytona in '08 and what kind of rpm it was pulling. I'd actually like to know myself as I think my 1125R should be 170mph+ and I was wondering if I could hang with the Vinnie on the banking in March, now we'll have to wait till 2011! |
