It looks like the blowout prices of Buell have brought the squids here.<sigh>
I said the same thing back in late October. Hell we had some squids before, just because they see watercooled literbike. Thank god most of the squids hated the pods, that kept them at bay.
Illbuell, you're missing the point. It's not the fact that the guys offs himself, it's the fact that he leaves somebody else to deal with the mess he made. That and the fact that he's taking risks with somebody else's life without their consent.
And no, you can't do it with your eyes closed.
I know a little about people who die having fun, I've been roadracing for 25 years, but we take those risks in a place where others also are aware of the risks and they give consent.

I showed my 2 youngest, who are off of school, the video, and made no comments. At the end I asked what they thought, and they both said the guy is an idiot. Good to know I may have imparted some common sense, as most days it doesn't seem like it. Then again the 14 year old has asked my Harley riding neighbor why he doesn't wear a helmet, and said he thought it was stupid. My neighbor is a good guy and took it in stride and even half heartedly admitted it wasn't too bright.
illbuell, if what you say about about your riding is true (wink wink), all that demonstrates is ability you moron, skill is ones ability to appropriately apply said ability in a fashion that is not ony necessary to complete the desired task, but in a manner that other riders should strive to achieve.Try doing that while rolling up on me in my f350 as i make an UNEXPECTED lane change with NO WARNING in front of you. I can stunt rather well myself, but thats done in parking lots where i don't jeapordize the non consenting public. YOU SIR ARE A SQUID.
You always do the speed limit and never ever break any traffic laws.Right?
About 98% of the time, yes. I get better fuel economy and tires last longer that way. Of those 2% of the times I am screwing around, I do it away from traffic and I don't push my limits. Also, I have gotten my share of performance awards, so I really don't ride hard on the street anymore.
Also I should note, during those times I am screwing around, I am not doing 3 times the speed limit, and am not making dangerous passes or performing any other stupid maneuvers.
illbuell, you really are the one who doesn't get it, and with guys like you, you won't until you DO hurt yourself or someone else. I'm a competitive pistol shooter, and am into cowboy action shooting and believe you me, I AM DAMN GOOD, but how would you feel if you saw me twirling my loaded irons in front of your kids simply because i can?
and for the record MR illbuell, I never said anything about not breaking traffic laws, thats just silly talk i have the same wants to go fast and ride hard as anyone else, I guess i just choose to be a little more judicious about where and when.
there is so many things I could say to the squids that support riding like excessive speeds around traffic, splitting lanes, wheelieing past traffic while splitting lanes, but i would simply be wasting my time if they cant even grasp the fact that its not just their lives and bodies they are putting at risk but also the general public they obviously wont be able to grasp any thing that resembles common sense}
Practice hard on the stunting in a closed lot. Practice hard on lap times on a closed course. Practice hard on desert racing in the desert. Practice hard on commuting in traffic, without pissin everyone off. It's called social conciousness.
Hello everyone. I started this thread as a litmuss(?) test. Too see the vibe of my future brothers of Buell. I am very pleased at the amount of response this thread has recieved. ( that thread bout the red plastics on eBay was so boring. lol :-) I now stand behind, what I called this thead, even more. "What u r bout 2 c could kill....if you try this yourself." And still I don't condone what he did, which is risking the life of anyone who happened to walk, bicycle, jog, push a stroller or drive in his path. However impecable his or anyone else skills may be, don't ride like this around anyone. even on a track unless your all alone. Please!!! Yes I still wish I could switch direction half as good as this guy. I also wish I could get my front wheel off the ground In a controlled fasion but I'm not trying too, I just want to get my skills up and not hurt anyone or myself trying to do it. I can't say it enough. I'm not trying to kill myself. I've lost some good friends on these bikes and maybe if they could ride half as good as this guy they might still be here. If that makes me a squid or what ever it's called then feel the wrath of my ink as I spew it out from my secret place. (ok what the hell am I talking bout) (oh now I remember) my point is d@mn that guy is good. A first class @$$hole but good. And if I saw him at a gas station I would probally break something off in his keyhole so I could get a good headstart before he wrecks in front of me.
Guard Rail, you're missing the point. Those of us with more than 3 brain cells really didn't see a whole lot of "skill". Balls, yes. But skill? Not so much.
Watch the guy in nearly every corner. He corrects, and over corrects, and then corrects again. That's not skill. That's adrenaline, fear, and lack of skill IMHO.
and maybe if they could ride half as good as this guy they might still be here.
Guard - the guy in the video has no talent and is NOTHING anyone should bother aspiring to.
His turns are crap. They're jerky, they're bad lines, and like Steve said every one of them is full of corrections and recorrection. This is not a good rider.
For sh!ts sake, he was bouncing off the rev limiter every 30 seconds because he wasn't paying attention to the revs.
I go out and have fun on the street, no doubt about it. But I don't do it in traffic and I don't have to keep the thing at redline, either. This is just a tool trying to show off to a bunch of other tools.
See, our 'lil Buell group has 5 or 6 licensed, or ex-licensed AMA and CCS racers in it.
We've gotten private track day instruction from one of the more successful Buell racers around.
And ya know what? I've not seen a one of them brag on an open forum like this. But I'm sure they lurk, and laugh at the guys bragging about "much much much high skill level than most"
Ok. I was too busy watching his near misses. I'll look again and pay attention to his "skills" in the turns. I've been ride'n 6 months. I took the ride'n course and looking forward to taking the experienced riders course and some track days. All that to say, I'm just getting started learning how to ride and NO!!! I don't wanna be like Mr mike @hole in the vid but ya wanna know the truth with all his mistakes he is probally still a better rider than I am. Definitly dummer. If the 2 can be seperated if only for a moment. I'm not trying to glorify him or what he did or who he put in danger. I know it's a bad "measuring" stick but I'm not trying to measure up to it just taking a little notice. sorry of it's wrong to say "hitler was better than napolen but budda had it right" (that's really gonna get me in trouble) froggy I had no idea you were 23
