In order to conserve room I was wondering if it is possible to stack a HID Ballast on top of another? or will this cause a heat issue? any ideas? |

I did it on my 1125rt right in the nose over 30,000 miles ago. Heck they are air cooled when your riding, just keep riding!!!!!!!! |

real HID effin rocks!! huge upgrade and our reflector/lens combos are pretty well setup for it. i have had no complaints from people that i have followed even was told by one that the liked them better than regular bulbs in their mirrors not ever been flashed by oncoming traffic either. |

Is there an easy way to get to the low beam bulbs without having to remove the front fairing on the R? |

nope.... but the front fairing is easy to remove... 4 nuts for the mirrors and 2 lower fairing bolts... wiggle the wire for the turn signals out and then slip the fairing off. then i believe there are 6 bolts holding the headlamp assy to the fairing mount... I changed in Hids in about 2 hours and even had to flip the wires for power since they were reversed, i stuck the ballast under the head assy and reinstalled. This is definitely a worth while upgrade, better than any performance upgrade IMO. |

I ordered my DDMs on Monday. Still awaiting confirmation on the order. I got the 3000k for the low beams. Should catch the attention of cagers. Hopefully. Will put in LEDs for the makers and then put Silverstars for the hi beams. Will hopefully look and function nicely. |

Yeah, I saw Puzzled's install and was convinced on the LEDs. Looks great and might as well. I ordered them through DDM for $3 each. Ordered one of the license plate light also. I'll get the Silverstars from Wallyworld when I decide to go out to the cold garage and take on the project. |

I used DDM's stuff for my Hids.... the only thing i had to do was re-pin the connectors in the wire harness that feed the ballast. (the original connector for the halogen bulbs) the factory setup for me was reversed polarity so i had no lights. Quick repin using a staple from my mom staple gun and i was in business... (i have a feeling i'll be explaining this later on lol) As for 3000k color you do realize that is YELLOW, and not just mild YELLOW, like Bright canary yellow... that will get attention of cagers, but i know in my area it also attracts cops..... I know i have seen 1 (GSXR1000)rider in Vegas with yellow lights and so far he has gotten harrassed a few times...... cops seem to love him.. Also the Yellow will not shine as far as the bright white... i have the 5000k color and i also needed to adjust the aiming of the lights to not annoy other drivers.. Best part i like about our headlamps is how light is refracted on the sides.. that catches cager attention when you pull up beside them.. I added some cheap ebay white hi beams and i left the stock 194 bulbs.. i like the stock 194 bulbs as it adds a touch of orange/yellow to the head lamps and they stand out.. i'll have to get a picture one of these days.. |

one of my favorite mods. i ziptied the 2 mini ballast on top of each other with the DDM logo up and then to the center section that holds the left & right headlight housings together. ya know, so you can see them thru the windscreen. and my bulbs are 6K, for the curios. hope you like the 3K's, Hogzilla |

My memory is total shit but there is a really nice HID thread with photos for the R on here somewhere. I was trying to find it myself for ideas. If I remember right he had mini ballasts mounted up front side by side and even used hardware to attach them. |

Kc10_fe, that sounds like Puzzled's post. I saw it on another forum. If you search 1125r hid in google, it comes up. Great post. Nillaice, damn! I'm sold. Looks great! |

I got the round cylinder type ballast and they fit fine behind the fly screen on my 09 CR. Super easy to install to.. Super super bright... Love them.. only paid like 50 bucks shipped for the pair of bulbs and ballast off ebay. (Message edited by illbuell on January 21, 2010) |

I'm going to give it a shot. I've seen them in pics and I like they they get the attention of the cagers. I had some PIAA lights on my old bagger in yellow and it really does get the attention of not so observant drivers. At $50 it's not the end of the world to change if it doesn't work out. |

I did my lo-beams with a BUB Lights kit with the larger ballasts. Bought the kit in March of 08, installed it after Homecoming. HUGE difference. The only place I could fit the ballasts was under the wiring, ziptied to the fairing supports. All in all, a fairly simple process with 6800 K color.
I was looking for a shot with the HID lo and halogen hi-beams together, but found one of the running light-converted-to-turn-signals. Z |

Loretta's been like that for 15k+ miles/ a year+ with no trouble from local LEOs. I also have an XBLights integrated rear run/turn/stop. The Firebolt long-stem mirrors work beautifully and drop right into the holes. |

I hope the clear lenses come into stock soon. I think the opt 6 is where Im heading as well. NJ roads are full of folks not looking where they are going. The airspace is just as bad. I could use a big ass option 6 up there too! Do all the HID installs have a polarity issue? What did you need to do to install LEDs in the running lights? |

You in regard to those integrated signal/brake light setups.. Option 6.... I just can't justify that setup......not for the price, but for the fact You can't really see them... My first group ride i noticed not one of the 5 other bikes had signals... 2 hours later i realized they all had integrated lighting... Once i knew to look for it, it was fine, but considering i just came from the cager world i have a good idea of how other drivers see these signals... THEY DON'T.... Now that i know to look for them i notice them all the time, but for the average joe blow.. the just don't pay enough attention to see them.. now the factory signals F/R they stand out... people notice them.. this is the reason why i didn't buy an integrated light... Just my thoughts though.. i like them, but i would rather have the cagers see me. |

Along with my LED tail light (2010) I'm thinking of putting on this... and putting in the Kisan signalMinder. Should hopefully get some attention of cagers. The signals have 44 leds. Made by these guys... http://www.kandstech.com/ |
