I bought a M2L cyclone last June. I just recently noticed that the paint was spiderwebbing. Is this normal? Also the place I took it to said that since it was past the manufacturer's waranty it might not be covered under my 3 year bumper to bumper extended warranty. I can definately say that I am disappointed, if this is a problem that a lot of people have. |

Are you talking about the fine hair line scratches that you can only see at certin angels??? Or is the paint actually looked cracked??? Cause it sounds like the tank was hit or bumped rather hard. The tank tends to Spiderweb when dropped or hit cause the paint isn't as flexable as the tank. Hate to add but you won't be able to buff it out. |

It looks like the paint is actually cracked. I am still waiting from the dealership on whether or not they are going to fix or replace. So far it seams as if they will. Thanks for your input Spidey. |

Good luck on that. If you need an extra tank I have an extra in my garage that is looking for a new home, But it needs a paint job |

An UPDATE: For those that are following. I got a response back from the dealer. They would not fix it. But they gave me the customer service number to call and plead my case. I did. They once again said there was nothing they could do but have the dealer take pictures and send them off to a tech to look at and then make a decision on what to do. Never got around to that because I got a phone call from custmer service. Asking what type of damage was done to the bike. I told him what the tank looked liked. He then asked what I did to make it look that way. I laughed and said nothing. He then wanted to know which dealer I took it to and he called them to verify my claim. Which they did. And he agreed that I shouldn't have to pay for to fix it. But here is the catch. The bike is two months out of factory warranty. Which means even with the extended warranty, no cosmetics are covered. But they have an rule where if the dealer is willing to front the cost, customer service will help the dealer out. The dealer originally said no but then the service manager said he never looked at it and wants to take a look and either approve or deny my claim. Damn that was long winded. I'll keep the updates comming. But the bike won't get to the shop til tuesday. |

GREAT NEWS!!! I took the bike down to talk to the service manager. He took a nice long and hard look at the tank. Then he told me we had some paper work to fill out. They are going to buy me a new tank. Not sure when its going to get here. I am hoping in time for the Harley 100th in Milwaukee. But I won't hold my breath. BUT HALLELUJAH!! |
